RJ Harvey

24-Year-Old Running BackRB
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Harvey originally was recruited to Virginia to play quarterback, but at 5-foot-8, 205 pounds, that would have been a disorienting sight. He found his true calling upon transferring to UCF, where he moved to running back and caught fire. After an initial redshirt season, Harvey went nuts the next three years, turning 576 carries into 3,789 yards (6.6 YPC) and 43 touchdowns in 38 games. Harvey was also lethal as a receiver, turning 79 targets into 61 receptions for 720 yards and five touchdowns (77.2 percent catch rate, 9.1 YPT). While he might look small at a glance, Harvey is densely built for his height, with a low center of gravity that makes him difficult to tackle. He thrived as a workhorse the last two years, and he may quickly emerge as a starter for the Broncos after they drafted him in the second round, 60th overall, this spring. His prospects took a bit of a hit when the Broncos signed J.K. Dobbins in June, but the team doesn't have much else in the backfield, returning Audric Estime and Jaleel McLaughlin. Perhaps Harvey was a surprising second-round pick, but no one should be surprised if he takes over the Denver offense in 2025. Read Past Outlooks

Several big plays in loss

Harvey rushed the ball seven times for 50 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-20 loss to the Jaguars. He added four receptions on five targets for 71 yards.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Sean Payton promised to get Jaleel McLaughlin more involved in this game, and that split came to fruition. Harvey saw only seven carries as opposed to five for McLaughlin, though Harvey still got the job done as a rusher thanks to a tough 38-yard touchdown run, during which he bounced off several defenders and then out-raced a few more to reach the end zone. The Broncos were forced into a pass-heavy offense while chasing the score, which also helped Harvey rack up a season-best 71 yards through the air. While his workload will be worth monitoring as he continues to work through a rib injury, Harvey showed explosiveness on limited touches that was previously missing from his game.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Improving in pass protection
RBDenver Broncos
December 2, 2025
Harvey has improved as a pass blocker and could see increased playing time down the stretch, Jeff Legwold of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The Broncos have played two games so far without J.K. Dobbins, who is currently on injured reserve with an ankle injury. Harvey has played 61 and 46 percent of the offensive snaps in those contests, totaling 14 and 16 touches, while getting spelled by Jaleel McLaughlin and Tyler Badie. The bigger concern could be Harvey's inefficiency, as he's totaled only 65 yards on the ground on 24 carries since taking over as the primary back.
