2025 Fantasy Outlook
Statistically, the shift from Baltimore to Pittsburgh didn't affect Queen much, though the warts in his underlying profile both remained and re-emerged. He's struggled to tackle consistently throughout his career, and his 13.3 percent missed-tackle rate in 2024 was remarkably the lowest mark of his career. Equally troubling was his regression in pass coverage. After showing improvement in that area as his career progressed, Queen allowed a 108.2 passer rating against in 2024. None of that matters for IDP purposes, as he topped 1,000 defensive snaps for the second straight season and will undoubtedly do so again in 2025 barring injury. There is also some hope for improvement, as Queen will be in his second year in the same defensive scheme and the team has upgraded along the defensive line this offseason, potentially helping free him to make more plays in the run game. Dealing with lower-back bruise

Lower Back
December 1, 2025
Queen is believed to have suffered a lower-back bruise in Sunday's 26-7 loss to the Bills, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Queen's injury was initially considered a hip issue, but it's now been clarified to be a lower-back injury. The 26-year-old is set to undergo more testing, though the team is hopeful that it's not a long-term concern. Queen's practice participation throughout the week will likely provide the best indication of whether he can suit up for the Week 14 matchup against the Ravens.

Queen began his career as an early-down player and as a significant liability in coverage, though he's reshaped his game the last two seasons to become more well-rounded. His strengths are likely to always be centered around rushing the passer and stopping the run, but his ability to cover running backs and tight ends has progressed enough to keep him on the field more consistently. That's been reflected in his snap count, which has risen every, reaching its peak at 2023 with a mark of 1,073. After spending four years in Baltimore, Queen signed with AFC North rival Steelers in the offseason and will be counted on to lead the middle of the team's defense. It would come as no surprise if his snap and tackle count take another jump in 2024.
The Ravens' recent moves in their linebacker corps suggest that Queen will need to up his play to remain part of the team's long-term plans. The 2020 first-rounder's fifth-year option was declined this spring and the Ravens swung for the fences by acquiring Roquan Smith last season and drafting Trenton Simpson. Queen should still have the inside track at one of the starting inside LB spots and his improvements last year were noteworthy. He logged a career-best 117 tackles and five sacks while boosting his coverage ability by holding opposing QBs to a 69.1 rating when targeting him after previously hovering around 100.
Queen enters his third season looking to improve after a middling 2021. His coverage remained a liability last season as he allowed a 67.7 percent completion rate along with a whopping 8.2 YPA while being credited with allowing two touchdown receptions. Playing time won't be an issue for him and he should still challenge for the 100-tackle mark. It's possible that working with new defensive coordinator, Mike MacDonald unlocks the potential that the Ravens saw in Queen when they spent a first-round pick on him in 2020.
Although he struggled at times as a rookie last season and had his playing time tinkered with in the second half, Queen was still impressive for his age. He turned 21 in training camp yet still started Week 1 and produced 106 tackles on just 858 snaps. He's still young, but Queen should be a step ahead of where he was in 2020, and he should play something closer to 1,100 snaps than 850. With 4.50 speed and the ability to produce tackles, sacks and interceptions, Queen has major upside despite his slightly uncertain floor.
Queen will be an immediate upgrade for the Ravens, both in terms of run defense and especially in terms of coverage. That's perfectly fine for where the NFL is headed - killer coverage linebackers like Eric Kendricks and Fred Warner are incredibly valuable in the modern NFL. Unfortunately for IDP purposes, this type of linebacker might carry a bit of a cap to their upside. They are largely good because they don't allow passes to be completed near them, so they don't get the same level of tackle opportunity that a lesser coverage linebacker would. This already showed up in Queen's LSU stats, where last year he totaled 85 tackles - third on the team behind fellow rookie linebacker Jacob Phillips and even safety JaCoby Stevens. Queen is an athletic, instinctive playmaker who should get his share of plays in coverage and as a blitzer. But he just might struggle to exceed the 110-tackle mark regularly, just as in Kendricks' case.

Standing out in camp
LBPittsburgh Steelers
August 6, 2025
Queen has been a standout performer at Steelers camp thus far, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Queen played every defensive snap during his 2024 debut campaign with the Steelers and finished with 129 total regular-season tackles, the second-highest tally of his career. However, Pryor notes Queen came to camp with a "quiet fire" to correct all that went south for the Steelers during their disappointing finish last season, and the 2020 first-round pick of the Ravens has consistently been a playmaking presence in the middle of the field.
