2025 Fantasy Outlook
Wright's rookie season was disappointing, but patience is warranted in light of his age (22 in April) and the fact that he was never a full-time player in college at Tennessee. The 2024 fourth-round pick still has plenty of big-play potential, thanks to his 4.38 speed at 5-foot-11, 210 pounds. De'Von Achane is too light to do everything in the Miami backfield, and with Raheem Mostert no longer on the roster, Wright only needs to outrank Alexander Mattison to earn change-of-pace carries. The danger there is that Mattison is a good pass blocker who can also execute power concepts better than speed backs like Achane and Wright. Rookie sixth-round pick Ollie Gordon is a better option for power concepts as well, adding another element of competition to Miami's backfield. The good news, apart from the possibility of continued development, is that Wright's skill set makes him the best fit to take on a large share of Achane's touches if Achane misses time. RANKS
Uninspiring rookie season
Wright rushed six times for minus-four yards during Sunday's 32-20 loss to the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Wright saw his highest touch total since Week 12 during Miami's season finale, but the rookie fourth-round pick did little with his opportunities. Across 15 appearances in 2024, Wright rushed 68 times for 249 yards without a single touchdown and secured three of six targets for eight yards. The Tennessee product was touted as a big-play threat after he submitted a 4.38-second 40-yard dash time at the NFL Scouting Combine, but he logged only one run of 20-plus yards as a rookie. Even if the Dolphins opt to move on from veterans Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson this offseason, Wright will need to improve heading into Year 2 to secure a notable role behind De'Von Achane.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Most draft analysts expected Wright to go sooner than the fourth round this spring, and the combination of a crowded Miami backfield and disappointing draft capital doesn't exactly hint at big-time production Year 1. On the other hand, Raheem Mostert has shown that a running back with Wright's approximate height/weight/speed dimensions can post big numbers in the Mike McDaniel offense. Wright ran a 4.38 40 at 5-11, 210, confirming that he has speed to turn the corner and split safeties in the NFL, after he frequently did so at Tennessee. He averaged 6.0 yards on 146 carries in 2022 and then 7.4 YPC across 137 carries his final season, providing first-rate efficiency on medium-sized workloads in a spread offense. Wright probably isn't much of a power runner and caught only 30 passes in three collegiate seasons, but if Mostert or De'Von Achane misses any time the rookie should offer timely firepower as a rushing specialist.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Working on pass catching
Dolphins running back De'Von Achane told reporters Wednesday that Wright has been working on pass catching out of the backfield ahead of the 2025 season, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Wright was the Dolphins' fourth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He was brought in for his big-play potential, but he was stuck behind Achane and Raheem Mostert for most of his rookie season and finished with 68 carries for 249 yards across 15 regular-season games. Wright added just three catches for eight yards but is committed to working on that part of his game to establish himself as the Dolphins' No. 2 running back behind Achane and ahead of Alexander Mattison and rookie sixth-round pick Ollie Gordon.
