2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hurts dropped out of the Top 5 of fantasy QBs for the first time in three years last season, finishing a respectable eighth on his way to being named Super Bowl MVP. He failed to crack 3,000 yards for the first time as a full-time starter despite a career-high 68.7 completion percentage (8th) -- helped by not throwing deep as much as usual -- and tied his 2022 career high of 8.0 YPA (4th). In other words, he was again an effective passer, he just didn't get enough attempts. He lost 2.5 games to injury, but the bigger reason his attempts fell (by 7.5 per game) was the Eagles becoming a run-first powerhouse behind Saquon Barkley. Philadelphia's rush rate jumped nearly 10 percentage points compared to 2023, up to 55.7 percent, highest in the league. Hurts still got his usual 150 carries, for the third consecutive year, and scored double-digit rushing TDs for the fourth straight season, the most ever for a QB. He had a league-high 14 rushing scores (one away from matching his NFL QB record), with 10 coming on unstoppable Tush Push sneaks. The league's best offensive line lost RG Mekhi Becton this offseason, replaced by Texans disappointment Kenyon Green -- nothing O-Line coach Jeff Stoutland can't handle. All of Hurts' favorite targets return, namely WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. As long as the Tush Push is legal (attempts to ban it failed again), Hurts can thrive with only 400 pass attempts. If he pushes 450, he'll be back in the Top 5 at the position. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Solid second half in loss
Hurts completed 19 of 34 passes for 230 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Friday's 24-15 loss to the Bears. He added four rushes for 31 yards but also lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Hurts failed to move the Eagles offense in the first half, as he was regularly off target and totaled only 57 passing yards on 10 attempts. He was more effective in the second half, connecting with A.J. Brown on several key completions -- including 33 and four-yard touchdown strikes. Even Hurts' effort in the final two quarters was hampered by two turnovers, however, including a fumble on a Tush Push deep in Bears territory. While he has been inconsistent leading the Philadelphia offense, Hurts has multiple touchdowns in consecutive games and four of his last six contests.

Hurts isn’t necessarily a prolific passer -- 13th in TDs last season, 14th in yards -- but the Tush Push cheat code makes him an easy fantasy bet. After ranking third among QBs in 2022 fantasy scoring, Hurts moved up to second last season behind 15 rushing touchdowns, an NFL record for QBs later tied by Josh Allen. Hurts led quarterbacks with 16 goal-line carries and scored 11 touchdowns on QB sneaks. The Tush Push also keeps drives alive. Hurts converted 24 of 27 QB sneaks on third-and-short and fourth down last season, giving him more fantasy opportunities. Passing wise, Hurts completed 65.4 percent of attempts even as his average target depth jumped to 8.7, fourth deepest in the league. His YPA dropped from 8.0 to 7.2, because he was a little less accurate on attempts of 20-plus yards and his receivers didn’t gobble up as many yards after the catch. In 2022, 50.8 percent of Hurts’ yards came via YAC, compared to only 44.9 percent last season. That might matter for the Eagles, but in fantasy it's of little concern given his three straight seasons with double-digit rushing TDs and more than 600 yards. The addition of running back Saquon Barkley likely will sap some goal-line carries, and center Jason Kelce’s retirement is a consideration (he was the tip of the Tush Push spear), but penciling in Hurts for double-digit rushing scores isn’t wish-casting. As long as his rushing production remains strong, Hurts has a shot at finishing as the top fantasy QB even if his passing never reaches higher levels.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Down top receiver Sunday
Hurts will play Sunday's Week 8 matchup against the Giants without A.J. Brown, who's been ruled out due to a hamstring injury, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown played a key role in the Week 7 win over the Vikings and sealed the victory via a 45-yard connection with Hurts late in the fourth quarter, but he emerged with a hamstring injury that kept him from practicing this week. The star receiver has been averaging 7.3 targets per game from Hurts, so DeVonta Smith and Jahan Dotson will have to help fill that void for the star signal-caller when he drops back versus New York.
