Evan Hull

25-Year-Old Running BackRB
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hull was a fifth-round pick by the Colts in 2023 but spent most of his time on the team's practice squad over the past two seasons, appearing in just two games during that time. He signed a contract with the Steelers during the offseason but seems like a long shot to make the roster since Jaylen Warren will return to the team, while Pittsburgh also brought in Kaleb Johnson, Kenneth Gainwell and Trey Sermon to help fill the void left by the departure of Najee Harris. Logs five carries in NOLA debut
RBNew Orleans Saints
December 1, 2025
Hull tallied five carries for 15 yards during Sunday's 21-17 loss versus Miami.
ANALYSIS
Alvin Kamara was inactive with an MCL sprain suffered last week, leaving Hull, Devin Neal and Audric Estime as the Saints' three active running backs. Neal handled the bulk of the rushing workload with 14 carries while playing 82 percent of offensive snaps. Meanwhile, Hull played just 18 percent of offensive snaps, while Estime never saw the field. Hull appears set to be the RB2 so long as Kamara remains out, but his production probably won't serve much purpose in terms of fantasy value. New Orleans will next play versus Tampa Bay on Sunday.

2023
Drafted out of Northwestern in the fifth round last year, Hull saw one carry in Week 1 before suffering a knee injury that ended his rookie season. While he runs with good power and surprising speed, Hull lacks the elusiveness or balance to survive contact consistently, making him best suited for a short-yardage battering ram role between the tackles. With Jonathan Taylor locked into the starting job for the Colts, Hull will battle Trey Sermon for backup snaps, and his goal-line usage could depend on how much the team wants to protect quarterback Anthony Richardson.
Hull, a 2023 fifth-rounder, has a chance to win a significant role in the backfield during training camp. The Northwestern product was an outstanding receiver out of the backfield with the Wildcats (55 receptions in 2022) and could fill the role of a pass-catching back to complement starter Jonathan Taylor. While Hull had a mundane yards-per-carry figures (4.1 yards per carry), that may be a byproduct of Northwestern's struggles in his senior season since he possesses 4.47 40-yard dash speed. He'll compete with Deon Jackson for the third spot on the Colts' RB depth chart.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Week 6 elevation candidate
RBFree Agent
October 10, 2024
Hull has a chance to be elevated from the Colts' practice squad for Week 6 against the Titans, as Jonathan Taylor and Trey Sermon didn't practice Wednesday due to their respective ankle and collarbone injuries.
ANALYSIS
If both Taylor and Sermon sit, Hull would likely get a chance to join Tyler Goodson in a depleted Indianapolis backfield. The 2023 fifth-round draft pick lost out on the third-string running back spot to Goodson in a camp battle, but Hull's likely at the top of the practice squad elevation list, ahead of Trent Pennix. Hull was elevated to the active roster while Taylor sat out in Week 5 against the Jaguars, but the Colts went with a combination of Sermon and Goodson in the backfield.
