Smith was selected in the fifth round of the 2024 Draft but was limited to just seven games in his rookie season after opening the year on injured reserve due to an ankle injury. In those seven contests, he caught seven passes, but four of those, including his lone touchdown, came in Week 18 with starters resting. Smith was selected by the Eagles in the fifth round (152nd overall) of the 2024 Draft out of Texas A&M. The 5-9, 190-pound wideout is a talented slot playmaker, highlighted by his 857 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns (six receiving, four rushing) in 10 games as a sophomore back in 2020. His 2022 season was cut short by a broken leg after four games, and he was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his shin at the NFL Combine this spring. If his legs hold up, Smith will compete with Parris Campbell to be the third wideout in Philadelphia, where A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are unlikely to cede many targets.
