Headed to NFL
Smith (finger) announced Friday via social media that he'll forgo his remaining eligibility at Texas A&M to enter the 2024 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
Smith had already been in line to sit out Texas A&M's Dec. 27 matchup with Oklahoma State in the Texas Bowl while he recovers from a broken finger, but the injury shouldn't affect his preparations for the pre-draft process. The wideout finished the 2023 season with a 53-795-2 receiving line on 80 targets over 12 games.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Smith has shown great potential since arriving at Texas A&M three years ago, and is prepared to shine once again in his senior year. Last season, Smith served as the team captain and led the Aggies with 47 receptions and six receiving touchdowns. He also ranked second in receiving yards behind tight end Jalen Wydermyer who has since left the team to pursue professional opportunities. It is clear that Smith is a very talented wideout, but he will be relying on his quarterbacks to pass the ball well, something Texas A&M struggled with in 2021. The team was the third-worst in the SEC in passing yards per game with 208.6, but Smith has proven that if the ball is passed on target then he can be a lethal offensive player.
