2025 Fantasy Outlook
Carter began his collegiate career as an off-ball linebacker at Penn State and was regarded as one of the top players at his position as a prospect. However, he shifted to edge in his final year with the Nittany Lions and catapulted himself into the conversation as the top overall pick after logging 24 tackles for loss and 12.0 sacks across 16 games in 2024. Carter ultimately went third overall to the Giants and joins a very talented group of defensive linemen on the roster. He could open up his career in a rotation with Kayvon Thibodeaux, but there's no doubt he'll find his way onto the field and should be plenty impactful. In the context of dynasty leagues, Carter could quickly emerge to the heights of elite young options at the position such as Aidan Hutchinson and Travon Walker. Read Past Outlooks

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Being deployed versatilely
Carter's explosiveness and versatility have stood out in practice, where he has been used as an edge rusher, defensive tackle and inside linebacker, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Carter was at his best when rushing the passer at Penn State, but the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft is getting opportunities to play all over the field as the Giants look for ways to deploy him alongside the established edge duo of Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux. Using Carter at defensive tackle or inside linebacker allows all three to play simultaneously, which fits into the Giants' philosophy of trying to get their 11 best defenders on the field as much as possible.
