Our coverage of NFL betting rolls on about halfway through the season, as we look at Week 9 games.
RotoWire, your source for the best NFL betting promos, once again turns to ChatGPT to project results for Week 9 NFL games. We ran 10 simulations for each matchup and asked AI to produce results with game scores for each simulation using updated NFL rosters as of Oct. 29. Then we calculated the average margin of victory by which a team was projected to win in each matchup.

Having AI predict results of a game can be fun, but the results don't always match point spreads and moneylines that you see with NFL betting operators for each game.
Which Week 9 Games Are Too Close To Call?
Our projections this week include two games that were split 5-5 after 10 simulations. One of them is a matchup of two AFC powers that could well meet in the playoffs yet again in a couple of months.
Sorry, Ravens-Dolphins. Not you.
Kansas City visits Buffalo in a rivalry that's very one-sided. But which side is which depends on the time of year.
The
Buffalo Bills have won four consecutive regular-season meetings against Andy Reid and company. Buffalo comes into this one as a slight underdog with a spread between 1.5 and 2.5 points, depending on which US sports betting sites operator you consult.
The Bills have a .570 all-time winning percentage against the Chiefs, Buffalo's best against any AFC opponent. The problem, of course, comes when it counts, because Kansas City has won all four playoff meetings since January 2021.
Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl odds have returned to normal in the past few weeks as the team has won five out of six games since an 0-2 start. It's unusual for a 5-3 team to be the league favorite when there are teams out there at 6-2 and even 7-1. But it seems the public can't get enough of Patrick Mahomes and his co-stars.
Other Week 9 NFL Games That Could Be Tight
Four teams this week have a projected 6-4 edge after 10 AI simulations: The Giants (against the 49ers), Steelers (hosting the Colts), Jaguars (at the Raiders) and Seahawks (at the Commanders on Sunday night).
Remember when we mentioned that there was a 7-1 team that isn't a title favorite? Well at least that team, with the best record in the league, is favored to win on Sunday.
Meet the
Indianapolis Colts, perhaps the most overlooked team of recent seasons. Or are they merely the best team in a relatively weak AFC South division?
Indy is giving 3.0 or 3.5 points to the host Steelers, who are struggling on defense, allowing 386 yards per game (30th out of 32 teams). Pittsburgh is so desperate for help that it sent a sixth-round draft pick to the New England Patriots this week for safety Kyle Dugger.
It's worse news for the Steelers considering the opponent, because the Colts are first in the NFL in total offense at 385.3 ypg. Running back Jonathan Taylor, the runaway leader in Offensive Player of the Year odds at -225 with DraftKings, and resurgent QB Daniel Jones are sparking this surge in Indy.
Week 9 NFL Projections Q&A
Q: How did ChatGPT simulate NFL Week 9 games?
A: RotoWire ran 10 simulations for every Week 9 matchup using ChatGPT, with rosters updated as of Oct. 29, 2025. Each game produced projected scores, a winner, and a calculated average margin of victory (MOV). This allowed us to compare not only who wins most often but also how decisively they win.
Q: Which teams dominated the ChatGPT simulations?
A: The biggest winners were the Packers (7-3 against the Panthers, +10.3 home average margin of victory), Lions (7-3, +9.3), Cowboys (8-2, +8.5), Bengals (7-3, +8.3), and Texans (8-2, +7.8); also strong: Chargers (8-2), Rams (7-3, +6.5), and Patriots (7-3).
Q: What were the closest or most balanced matchups in the simulations?
A: True toss-ups were Ravens at Dolphins (5-5) and Chiefs at Bills (5-5). Near-tossups included the Steelers over Colts (6-4), Jaguars over Raiders (6-4), Seahawks over Commanders (6-4) and Giants over 49ers (6-4), all with modest margins.
