2025 Fantasy Outlook
Jones opened last season as the starting point guard for the Suns, but the team's struggles forced a lineup change. He was benched after the All-Star break and saw roughly 10 fewer minutes per game. The veteran floor general's production ended up being roughly the same as it had been across the prior two campaigns with Washington and Memphis - 10.2 points, 5.3 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 0.9 steals in 26.8 minutes. During the offseason, Jones inked a one-year deal with the Magic. He'll be in contention with Anthony Black for backup point guard minutes, though Black also has the size to play on the wing. Ultimately, the move affects Black's fantasy viability more than Jones', who has been a fringe 12-team player lately. Black is more intriguing as the young up-and-comer, but his prospects for this season are a bit murkier. Only fantasy managers in deep formats should consider Jones, given his low ceiling. Left out of rotation Saturday
Jones (coach's decision) went unused off the bench in Saturday's 119-105 loss to the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Jones had already played fewer than 20 minutes in each of Orlando's last six games, and with the Magic getting another point guard in Jalen Suggs (knee) back from an eight-game absence and handing him 24 minutes in his return, Jones ended up being the odd man out of the rotation. Orlando will eventually get Franz Wagner (ankle) back in the mix as well, so Jones could face an uphill battle to regain a regular role on the second unit over the second half of the season.

Jones was a popular pick among experts last season when he stepped into a starting point guard gig for the Wizards, but things didn't go as planned. It certainly wasn't Jones' fault, averaging 12.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.6 threes last season. He also shot 49 percent from the field, 41 percent from three-point range and 80 percent from the free-throw line. Those statistics help fantasy managers fill every category, making Jones one of the most useful players in nine-category leagues at the end of drafts. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out in his new home, with Jones taking over as a point guard in Phoenix. It was the perfect move for the Suns since they didn't have a true point guard, but we have to assume it'll hurt Jones' fantasy value. Devin Booker is still expected to be the primary playmaker, while Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant and Jusuf Nurkic also need their touches. While this is an excellent move for real-life basketball, it's difficult to see Jones being a massive asset in fantasy since there are so many cooks in this Phoenix kitchen. In any case, Jones is a solid pick near the end of drafts because he won't hurt you anywhere and should provide value across the board.

The Timberwolves are keeping close tabs on Jones, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.
ANALYSIS
The Timberwolves are ready to make a move to bolster their backcourt before the Feb. 5 deadline, and their major focus is to acquire another playmaker who can play seamlessly next to Anthony Edwards in the backcourt. Jones isn't having his best season in Orlando, but he's a proven veteran who would flourish alongside a player like Edwards.
