NFL Week 16 Predictions, Picks, Props and Best Bets for Every Game

Will the Patriots really lose two straight games? Joe Bartel believes Drake Maye and company should get back on track against an inconsistent Baltimore team.
NFL Week 16 Predictions, Picks, Props and Best Bets for Every Game

Let's take a look at some of the lines and prop bets available entering Week 16 of the NFL season. This should be an overall fun slate, but there's a handful of utterly ridiculous lines mixed in that have me concerned about my overall view of the league at this point in the year. That's in line with my horrendous season record I guess, but I think there's still a few value point we can pick out yet.

NFL Week 16 Predictions

In this article, we also take a look at NFL Week 16 odds and our predictions for each NFL game. Home teams are listed last.

Rams vs. Seahawks

GameSpreadMoneylineTotal
Rams vs. SeahawksSeahawks -1.5Seattle -110; Los Angeles -11043.5

It's a bit frustrating a game of this magnitude will have to occur on such a short week, but so much of the NFC West has been determined from Thursday games that I don't think there's a convincing argument that can be made about what team the scheduling has impacted the most. No doubt the current answer is Los Angeles, particularly given Davante Adams is almost certainly unavailable after aggravating a hamstring injury in last Sunday's win. I said multiple weeks earlier when these two teams that I thought this would be a series split, and I'm not moving off that especially with inclement weather likely aiding Seattle.

Spread Pick: Seahawks -1.5
Total Pick: Over 43.5

Eagles vs. Commanders

GameSpreadMoneylineTotal
Eagles vs. CommandersEagles -6.5Philadelphia -310; Washington +25044.5

It's nice that Philadelphia is utilizing these get-right games to figure out their offense a bit more, but I still don't know what this unit is supposed to look like come the postseason. It obviously won't matter this week, as I expect the Eagles to just roll through whatever is left of a injury-plagued Washington team.

Spread Pick: Eagles -6.5
Total Pick: Under 44.5

Packers vs. Bears

GameSpreadMoneylineTotal
Packers vs. BearsPackers -1.5Green Bay -110; Chicago -11046.5

This is such a suspicious line. I suspect Chicago will be closer to a two-point favorite by kickoff, but it's definitely weird Green Bay even opened to that degree after the Massacre at Mile High. Chicago's offense is going to have zero issue slicing through whatever is left of the Packers defense, but I think I have some degree of hope Jordan Love can do the same against Chicago. I said two weeks ago these two teams would split the series as well, and it would be a monumental failure if the Bears did not hold up their end of the bargain with the losses Green Bay endured in Week 15.

Spread Pick: Bears +1.5
Total Pick: Over 46.5

Buccaneers vs. Panthers

GameSpreadMoneylineTotal
Buccaneers vs. PanthersBuccaneers -3Tampa Bay -155; Carolina +13045.5

I'm going to go down with the ship I guess because I think Tampa Bay is just outright the better team. Neither team wants to win the NFC South, that much is clear, but I'm hoping the Buccaneers are more motivated after a rather embarrassing loss to the Falcons last week.

Spread Pick: Buccaneers -3
Total Pick: Under 45.5

Bills vs. Browns

GameSpreadMoneylineTotal
Bills vs. BrownsBills -10Buffalo -625; Cleveland +45542.5

I don't think there's a number you could have set this at where I would take Cleveland and the points. I actually think Quinshon Judkins will do just fine, but how many possessions are they really going to score touchdowns? This is a tougher matchup on paper for Buffalo's offense, but this just isn't a game that I'd expect Josh Allen and company to lose in December.

Spread Pick: Bills -10
Total Pick: Under 44.5

Chargers vs. Cowboys

GameSpreadMoneylineTotal
Chargers vs. CowboysCowboys -2.5Dallas -135; Los Angeles +11449.5

I recognize that Dallas has a really capable offense, but there's just no way they should have allowed J.J. McCarthy to look as good as he did last week. The Chargers' offensive line is horrendous, but it just seems clear that the Cowboys don't have the requisite pass rushers to cause significant complications. I wouldn't touch this game with any real money, but I don't mind taking Los Angeles in an upset.

Spread Pick: Chargers +2.5
Total Pick: Over 49.5

Jets vs. Saints

GameSpreadMoneylineTotal
Jets vs. SaintsSaints -4.5New Orleans -230; New York +19040.5

I guess Brady Cook is playing regardless of the health of Tyrod Taylor (groin). If that's the case, I'll take the Saints even though they'll be severely depleted in terms of weapons given Devin Neal (hamstring), Devaughn Vele (shoulder) and Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle) all could be out for this game. New York's defense has just been so bad this season, but I don't think they've went against an offense that is this marginal either. This is a gross game that doesn't deserve the time of thought I've already put into it.

Spread Pick: Saints -4.5
Total Pick: Under 40.5

Vikings vs. Giants

GameSpreadMoneylineTotal
Vikings vs. GiantsVikings -3Minnesota -155; New York +13043.5

I'm a little surprised Minnesota is favored, but maybe I shouldn't be. I think they have the better coaching staff across the board, and if you believe like I do that defensive coordinator Brian Flores negates a rookie like Jaxson Dart, the quarterback play between both teams probably is similar. I don't think I have much of a reason to assume anyone will really get going in this game, and typically in those scenarios I just default to the home dog, but I'm pretty torn. It's another game that I wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole, but I guess I'll stick with the suspicious book line and hope it works in my favor.

Spread Pick: Vikings -3
Total Pick: Under 43.5

Chiefs vs. Titans

GameSpreadMoneylineTotal
Chiefs vs. TitansChiefs -3Kansas City -175; Tennessee +14537.5

I'll be very curious to see what Kansas City has to play for after they've been officially bounced from the playoff hunt. You'd think a prideful team like the Chiefs might also be inspired with the pressure off its back, but I'm not to sure. Regardless, it's impossible to trust the Titans in any sort of capacity, even though it would be a bit fun to see an "upset" in the post Patrick Mahomes (knee) world.

Spread Pick: Chiefs -3
Total Pick: Under 37.5

Bengals vs. Dolphins

GameSpreadMoneylineTotal
Bengals vs. DolphinsBengals -3.5Cincinnati -205; Miami +17047.5

I'd have been inclined to take the Dolphins to pull off the upset win if Tua Tagovailoa was the quarterback, but with Quinn Ewers set to start Sunday, this is shaping up to be a good spot for Cincinnati. I know the Bengals' defense is bad, but I suspect Ewers is one of those quarterbacks that will perpetually be in the QB50-65 range in the NFL during his career, and even with the benefit of little tape out there on him, that genre of signal caller rarely has success.

Spread Pick: Bengals -3.5
Total Pick: Under 47.5

Falcons vs. Cardinals

GameSpreadMoneylineTotal
Falcons vs. CardinalsFalcons -3Atlanta -155; Arizona +13048.5

I have no idea why the Falcons are favored here. It's one thing to win a divisional game when all the expectations were on the opponent, and another thing entirely to do it again on the road against a team that has nothing on the line. This is one of the easiest calls of the year in my mind.

Spread Pick: Cardinals +3
Total Pick: Over 48.5

Jaguars vs. Broncos

GameSpreadMoneylineTotal
Jaguars vs. BroncosBroncos -3Denver -162; Jacksonville +13646.5

Lost in the Packers injury carnage, I thought Bo Nix played an exceptional game in a pivotal contest last week. This line feels entirely disrespectful to Denver's defense, but also way to over reactionary to Trevor Lawrence's first great game arguably in his entire career. I know there's a lot on the line from a seeding perspective, but I'd truly surprised if Denver lost this one.

Spread Pick: Broncos -3
Total Pick: Over 46.5

Steelers vs. Lions

GameSpreadMoneylineTotal
Steelers vs. LionsLions -7Detroit -325; Pittsburgh +26051.5

Speaking of disrespectful, I know Pittsburgh has been up and down this year, but it's not like the Lions have been Mr. Consistent either. This feels like an aggressive line....but one that I feel like I need to take. I don't think the Steelers really have a dominant defense, so someone like the Lions and the explosive plays they're capable of making really shouldn't struggle much as all. Detroit is effectively out of the playoff race in my mind, but this should be a pretty comfortable win for them.

Spread Pick: Lions -7
Total Pick: Under 51.5

Raiders vs. Texans

GameSpreadMoneylineTotal
Raiders vs. TexansTexans -14.5Houston -1200; Las Vegas +75037.5

The late window really has some awesome contests, so I'm somewhat thankful this one is a laugher. It'll allow me to focus more on more fun things. I don't know what line this would need to be set at in order to pick the Raiders, but it definitely isn't high enough currently.

Spread Pick: Texans -14.5
Total Pick: Over 37.5

Patriots vs. Ravens

GameSpreadMoneylineTotal
Patriots vs. RavensRavens -3Baltimore -162; New England +13648.5

This is easily the most bizarre line of the entire season. I know the Patriots lost a somewhat surprising game to the Bills last week, but Baltimore hasn't been a capable team all year. This feels like a line that would have been set back in Week 4, but we know who the Patriots are at this point. It's so suspicious that I wonder if Vegas knows something we don't, but I'll blindly walk into this fire I guess.

Spread Pick: Patriots +3
Total Pick: Over 48.5

49ers vs. Colts

GameSpreadMoneylineTotal
49ers vs. Colts49ers -6.5San Francisco -305; Indianapolis +24546.5

I would have been so much more excited for this game had Daniel Jones (Achilles) been available. Not that 44-year-old Philip Rivers isn't entertaining in his own way, but I just struggle to see how Indianapolis can string together multiple scoring drives throughout the game. Brock Purdy may not be one of the leagues' top 10 quarterbacks, but Kyle Shanahan is absolutely of the best play callers in the league, and I expect the 49ers to take care of business in this one.

Spread Pick: 49ers -6.5
Total Pick: Over 46.5
