EuroLeague Basketball Picks: Best Bets for Round 19 - Friday

A couple key calls will influence the EuroLeague plays Kurt Jones is putting in Friday, but there is no doubt he is making a move with Virtus guard Matt Morgan.

PICKS TO CLICK

Matt Morgan Over 16.5 Points+Assists (-160 bet365)

Derrick Alston Jr 15+ Points (+350 bet365) OR Luca Vildoza 15+ Points (+275 bet365)

This one is pretty simple. With Carsen Edwards -- the Virtus player with the highest usage -- out for Round 19, opportunities are open in one of the friendliest guard matchups Virtus has seen in a while.

Morgan should get the first crack at filling the void, but that's not the only angle I'm interested in. One of the other two players listed will start, and once we know whether it's Alston or Vildoza -- that will be confirmed on RotoWire's EuroLeague Lineups page several minutes before tip-off -- I like targeting their alternate points prop.

Stefan Jovic 10+ Points (+235 bet365)

Stefan Jovic Over 6.5 Points (-115 FanDuel)

Bayern -- pending the status of Spencer Dinwiddie and Kamar Baldwin -- is extremely thin in the backcourt, similar to how things looked in late October before Dinwiddie joined the mix.

With Xavier Rathan-Mayes not available to be selected, I landed on Jovic, mainly because the value stands out. Earlier in the season, when Bayern was shorthanded, he was asked to play at least 20 minutes and saw respectable usage. Against a fast-paced Maccabi team that is not stout on the defensive end, anyone can get hot.

It should be noted that Jovic -- for an unspecified reason -- was held out of the three domestic games Bayern has played since Round 18. If he starts, I will likely ladder him on DraftKings with small units. If he sits out, Bayern will need Isiaha Mike to be more aggressive from the forward position, and I would like his chances to put up 10+ points at -122 odds on DraftKings.

Vincent Poirier Over 17.5 Points+Rebounds (-125 bet365) OR Ercan Osmani Over 13.5 Points+Rebounds (-110 bet365)

Red Star has been solid defensively against centers this season, but if Poirier plays -- his status is uncertain, per RotoWire's EuroLeague Injury Report -- I expect him to do so restriction.

His minutes have been trending up, with head coach Pablo Laso leaning on him heavily. Poirier logged 35 minutes in a double-overtime loss to ASVEL in Round 18, which projects to around 25 minutes in regulation -- which is exactly what I want to see. That amount of playing time in almost any matchup is enough for Poirier to wreak havoc.

If Poirier sits, Osmani's number becomes very favorable. While Red Star has held up well against centers, they have been particularly friendly to opposing power forwards.
