DraftKings LoL: Wednesday LPL/LCK Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings League of Legends series.

LPL/LCK Games (EDT)

  • 2:00 a.m. Gen.G vs. KT Rolster (LCK)
  • 3:00 a.m. EDward Gaming vs. Oh My God (LPL)
  • 4:00 a.m. T1 vs. Afreeca Freecs (LCK)
  • 5:00 a.m. Dominus Esports vs. Royal Never Give Up (LPL)
  • 5:50 a.m. DAMWON Gaming vs. SANDBOX Gaming (LCK)
  • 6:30 a.m. Invictus Gaming vs. Team WE (LPL)

EDG (8-5) vs OMG (7-7)

EDward Gaming lost a tough series against FunPlus Phoenix, but it's clear they are still trying to get back into sync after getting Jinoo and JieJie back. OMG got destroyed by eStar and it makes me think how one dimensional this team actually is. They refuse to do anything different during their laning phase which puts them behind teams who apply pressure on all sides of the maps early on. EDG is that type of team now that JieJie is back, and their style is a nightmare for OMG unless they can figure something out. OMG needs H4CKER and SMLZ to start carrying games in order to win and stop JieJie from roaming around or else they will lose their playoff spot.

Prediction: EDG 2-0

Bets: N/A

EDG players to target: Jinoo (TOP $6,400), JieJie ($7,400), Scout (MID $7,800)

DMO (5-9) vs RNG (8-6)

This is my sleeper of the day as I think Dominus Esports' upside is massive, mainly because they've been getting better every single game, while Royal Never Give Up has stagnated. RNG are favorites for good reason, but they haven't looked like the favorites we saw early on in

DMO (5-9) vs RNG (8-6)

This is my sleeper of the day as I think Dominus Esports' upside is massive, mainly because they've been getting better every single game, while Royal Never Give Up has stagnated. RNG are favorites for good reason, but they haven't looked like the favorites we saw early on in the season. As the meta changed a bit, XLB and Betty have looked lost in teamfights. It's forced RNG to play passive in the early game. The teams they lost to recently were Rogue Warriors and LGD, and even in the Week 4 win, EDward Gaming basically threw the series. All three teams have one thing in common -- they are aggressive early on and pressure RNG to disrupt their gameplan. DMO like to do the same thing, intensely focused on getting ahead early through skirmishes which they can then snowball into the late game. They aren't the cleanest team when it comes to late game, but they have been improving it, and I can see a scenario where DMO takes one game and ultimately take the series if they can just play a consistent late game. There isn't a lane matchup that I'm scared of because Natural can play both tanks and carry champions, XLB is maybe a little better than Xiaopeng, Xiaohu is better than both their mid laners even though Xiaowei is the next DoinB and he acts like another support, and finally Gala and Mark have been together for three years.

Prediction: DMO 2-1

Bets: DMO ML (+250)

DMO Players to target: Natural (TOP $5,600), Gala (ADC $6,800), Mark (SUP $5,000)

IG (11-2) vs WE (6-6)

I looked real hard at this game as Invictus Gaming have been really sloppy the last few series, and Beishang is very key to this matchup. IG have to start winning games in order to keep their first-place seeding since they dropped the game to eStar. IG has a pretty easy schedule, needing just two wins this week in order to secure their spot. Both of these teams love to fight and while I rate WE's teamfighting a bit better right now, IG solo laners are so much better. TheShy has been under-performing as he's been averaging six deaths per game the last few series, but I think that is disrespect more than anything else. Even in those games when he was dying a lot, he is always ahead in gold and CS by a large margin compared to his opponent. I think IG just smashes WE here and this is going to be a blood bath.

Prediction: IG 2-0

Bets: N/A unfortunately they didn't give us plus odds on IG to 2-0

IG players to target: Everyone

LCK - Gen.G (13-4) vs KT (10-7)

Gen.G dropped a tough game against Hanwha Life Esports, just getting out-macro'd. They lost every dragon in all three series, hardly coordinating at all. Vince Gelati, LoL handicapper, has said it well recently -- some of these teams get burned out with how condensed the schedule is. Gen.G had to play five games in 12 days and I know this is their job, but the fatigue is real when you have to play your match, then scrim other teams. I think this is a good bounce back for Gen.G to secure their first-place spot even while KT Rolster have been playing well. Gen.G still has the best Baron, Dragon and first-turret percentage in the league, and they will use this to choke out KT. Gen.G is cheap on DraftKings, but this could be a slow game from both sides.

Prediction: Gen.G 2-0

Bets: N/A

Gen.G Players to target: Clid (JNG $6,400), BDD (MID $7,400), Ruler (ADC $7,200)

AF (7-10) vs T1 (13-4)

Playoff implications will play a major part for Afreeca Freecs, as they need to win this game and hope DAMWON Gaming loses in order to force a tie for the last playoff spot. T1 needs to win this in order to force a tie for first place as well. T1 dropped their last game in the Telecom War, largely thanks to impressive play from KT Rolster. AF has the players to punch up, but they aren't the cleanest team and in past history, they have been decimated by T1 every time they played. I expect this to continue, and I do like this for DFS as AF's death-per-loss has been around 16. T1 should be to cover this unless they decided to go full macro and choke them out slowly until the end.

Prediction: T1 2-0

Bets: N/A

T1 Players to target: Teddy (ADC $7,800), Effort (SUP $5,400)

DWG (8-9) vs SB (5-12)

SANDBOX Gaming hasn't shown much in recent games besides having a 17 DPM per game, and DAMWON Gaming is a team that loves to fight. The problem with DWG is that they overextend and force fights when they don't need to, and any good team will punish that. In this meta, a lost teamfight could end up losing you the game no matter how far ahead a team is. Good thing is that SB are in the same boat where they want to fight, but don't have a clear shot caller to win them a game against a chaotic team like DWG. This should be a blood bath as well, and a very good LCK game to target on both sides. So if AF loses (which I think they will), we could see DWG not care, making SB a sneaky play as well.

Prediction: Damwon 2-1

Bets: Sandbox ML (+220)

Players to target: Everyone
