DraftKings LoL: Thursday LPL/LCK Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings League of Legends series.

LPL/LCK Games (EDT)

  • 3:00 a.m. Bilibili Gaming vs. Victory Five (LPL)
  • 4:00 a.m. Griffin vs. Hanwha Life Esports (LCK)
  • 5:00 a.m. LGD Gaming vs. FunPlus Phoenix (LPL)
  • 5:50 a.m. DragonX vs. APK Prince (LCK)
  • 6:30 a.m. Top Esports vs. eStar (LPL)

BLG (6-9) vs V5 (0-14)

This has been a terrible season for Victory Five and nothing has changed. This team decided to put their carry Y4 as a support last game against Top Esports and it didn't work out. V5 are just horrible at coordinating teamfights. If they could clean it up, they probably could win out most of the time the way they like to skirmish. Bilibili Gaming are too clean for V5 and BLG might just end this game quick instead of going for kills.

Prediction: BLG 2-0

Bets: N/A

BLG Players to target: Kingen (TOP $6,600), Meteor (JNG $7,200), Fofo (MID $7,800)

LGD (5-8) vs FPX (10-3)

Both teams can push the tempo at any moment, but FunPlus Phoenix is the cleaner team by miles, especially with Gimgoon. They just have better communication with him even though I think Khan is still a great player. FPX still has a chance to secure a second place spot if they can win out and eStar drops a game. FPX will beat LGD Gaming mid to late game, and I am not worried about the laning phase as DoinB can mitigate Peanuts roam by himself. This could be a bloody game to target and a solid build to have

FPX Players to target: Tian (JNG $6,800), DoinB (MID $8,000)

TES (9-4) vs eStar (11-4)

Here we have the most controversial game on the slate as both of these teams are in playoffs and they both have to win out for a better seeding. Top Esports finally started Jackeylove, but it was against Victory Five, where a lot of teams look good against them. The one thing V5 did was started these engages and then would get one pick which means that there has to be some miscommunication somewhere on the team, likely TES' bottom lane. Jackeyloves performance was more or less because V5 just played. Over-extending and getting caught out every teamfight won't work against better teams. After reviewing eStar the last couple of games, they are a really good teamfighting team, as their coordination and dives are on point. They use teleports, rotations and they abuse the other teams bot lane as the other laners are able to hold against their opponent. This causes a lot of problem for TES as eStar is going to disrupt the sole weakness of TES, and this will lead to TES having to worry about two players being far behind. eStar is not a team where you can punish in teamfights as they are very good around objectives. I think TES will have a tough time against a team that has been together the entire split and has been consistent throughout the season.

Prediction eStar: 2-1

Bets: N/A

eStar players to target: Everyone

LCK - HLE (6-11) vs Griffin (4-13)

Hanwha Life Esports took a game off Gen.G, choking them out with dragon control. HLE all split has been an up-and-down team due to the lack of consistency in their starting rosters. If this team ever wants to be legitimately good, they need to focus on one lineup going into Summer Split. Griffin, on the other hand, has shown some glimpse of winning early game, but they cant translate that into the late game. It is definitely a coaching problem and the players are too good to be losing to teams the way they are. Griffin has been playing a bit better and since this is the end of the season I would expect this team to take this game for themselves and finish on a strong note against a team that has issues that is more exploitable than theirs.

Prediction: Griffin 2-1

Bets: Griffin ML (+140)

GRF players to target: Tarzan (JNG $5600), Viper (ADC $6600),

APK (6-11) vs DRX (13-4)

This game is huge for DragonX as they need this win to be tied for second place. Last game of the season and the rest of playoffs hold in their hands. Young players generally get anxious or nervous because what is on the line for rest of Spring Split. The LCK playoffs are tough and long as teams go through the gauntlet, and with any sport you would want as much byes as you can get. APK Prince's and DragonX's damage per minute have been nearly the same, as both teams love to skirmish, more so APK since that is their only win condition. The DRX players and staff have already planned to avoid the chaotic style that APK is going to throw at them by pushing through the sidelanes as much as they can in order to get map control. I do think DragonX just smashes APK here and then lock up a second place tie with T1 for that No. 2 seed for playoffs.

Prediction: DragonX 2-0

Bets: N/A

DRX Players to target: Pyosik (JNG $6,400), Chovy (MID $7,200), Deft (ADC $7,600)

Stacks

Cash: BLG/FPX, DRX/eStar, FPX/eStar

GPP: Griffin/eStar, Griffin/FPX
