DraftKings LoL: Saturday LPL/LCK Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings League of Legends series.

LPL/LCK Games (EDT)

  • 2:00 a.m. Oh My God vs. LGD Gaming (LPL)
  • 4:00 a.m. APK Prince vs. Hanwha Life Esports (LCK)
  • 4:00 a.m. Team WE vs. eStar (LPL)
  • 5:30 a.m. SANDBOX Gaming vs. KT Rolster (LCK)
  • 5:30 a.m. Rogue Warriors vs. Royal Never Give Up (LPL)

OMG (7-5) LGD (4-7)

LGD Gaming have looked real good as of late, beating both WE and RNG in a fashion nobody would expect. LGD have one of the best early game strats in the league, but this doesn't always transition to wins. They still lack a lot of fundamentals as a team in the mid to late game, and we have seen them punt big leads to teams in the past. Peanut all split has been playing out of his mind, setting up his team for success in all lanes. Oh My God on Wednesday put on a clinic against Suning Gaming, but this is a team that has had macro issues in the past that held them back from being a consistently good team. OMG can win the early game as well if only H4CKER is able to clean up his engages and pathing like SN, and the other gameplan is to feed SMLZ, who needs to step up. Lane for lane, OMG players are better and I think the LGD hot streak will come to an end and we will see a favorite win Saturday.

Prediction: OMG 2-0

Bets: N/A

OMG Players to target: Curse (TOP $6,600), H4CKER (JNG $6,800), icon

WE (6-5) vs eStar (9-4)

Team WE are going to be super chalky here against a struggling eStar because of one series WE had looked somewhat good in. I credit that to beishang and teacherma for punishing Top Esports for poor executes during their teamfights. It seems like every since the Jackeylove news this team hasn't look good at all and this is nothing to take away from WE, but this team has been inconsistent throughout the whole split. They remind me of eStar early on in the season where they would do the same thing over and over and not get punished for it. Solid team with good proactivity, but very linear play style that is exposable on so many levels. eStar were eventually figured out by Vici Gaming, but it seems like the last two series they have been trying new things out against Royal Never Give Up/JD Gaming and even though they failed, they also didn't look bad doing so. They seem to be focusing hard on fixing their weakness, which is a good strategy considering they already have a playoff spot regardless. eStar is a clean team for the most part and they have shown to play a scaling comp, or an early dive comp and this will trouble WE in this series because we can see old eStar come back and just smash WE. Love them in this low own spot.

Prediction: eStar 2-0

Bets: N/A

eStar Players to target: Cryin (MID $8,200), Wink (ADC $8,400), ShiauC ($6,200)

RNG (7-5) vs RW (5-7)

Royal Never Give Up has lost two in a row, one to Invictus Gaming in a close series, and then LGD Gaming, who smashed them hard early. Game 1 was a loss as soon as the draft phase, as RNG was already out of the game and the players didn't have a good time with what they had to play. Game 2, LGD just looked real good and were able to close the gap on their weaknesses and capitalize on betty playing poorly. Now that the playoffs race is close, I can see RNG come back to earth and beat Rogue Warriors easily due to the fact that RW isn't a clean team. The last game against Vici Gaming, they lost a teamfight in jungle, and VG made a horrible call to back instead of taking soul away from RW. If RNG was in VG's situation I guarantee that they don't make the mistake VG did and punish RW for being to eager in teamfights.

Prediction: RNG 2-0

Bets: N/A

RNG Players to target: LangX (TOP $7,200), XLB (JNG $7,000),  Xiahou (MID $7,800)

LCK - HLE (5-11) vs APK (5-10)

This LCK slate is ugly and so most of these will be a quick write up. Both these teams grade out equal in every state category and have overperformed after the break. Both of these teams have solid drafts while their macro is bad, and they don't know how to teamfight.  If I had to lean one way it would be APK Prince because they have a solid bot lane compared to Hanwha Life Esports. HLE are stabilized top side of the map, but they aren't much better than Ikssu and Flawless.

Prediction: APK 2-1

Bets: APK ML (+105)

APK Players to target: Hybrid (ADC $6,800), Secret (SUP $4,600)

SB (5-11) vs KT (9-7)

SANDBOX Gaming is done, thanks to the fact Summit and Punch do not mesh well together. I don't get why SB doesn't put in Onfleek considering their bot lane has been getting destroyed. KT Rolster just beat T1 on Friday and they are looking to be in playoff form. Don't overthink this and play KT if you choose so. Very slow game so I would try to only stick to their team slot and Aiming.

Prediction: KT 2-0

Bets: N/A

KT Players to target: Aiming (ADC $7,600)

Stacks

Cash: WE/RNG, WE/OMG

GPP: LGD/WE, OMG/eStar, eStar/RNG
