Comilla Victorians vs. Sylhet Sixers: 16th Match Preview

Both Comilla Victorians and Sylhet Sixers haven't had the best of starts to the season. While Sylhet has lost two of their three matches, Comilla have managed to win as many as they have lost and are currently placed fourth in the table. Comilla will be without Evin Lewis who retired hurt mid-way through the last match while Sylhet are expected to go in with an unchanged line-up given how their Sohail Tanvir experiment panned out. This mid-table battle should make for an engaging contest and the new Sylhet stadium should encourage shot-making.

Player Recommendations:

Wicket-keeper: Liton Das (9 credits)

Das hasn't been clicking for Sylhet but given his clean stroke play and fabulous technique, it is only a matter of time before Liton Das finds his best form and a flat Sylhet wicket should bring out the best in him. Opening the batting, he is best placed to propel the innings and could be a key player on Tuesday.

Batsman: David Warner (10.5 credits)

Warner fell to Shakib in the last match continuing his poor form in the season but the Australian batsman is a dangerous opener in this format of the game and one can sense a big knock in the waiting. The Sylhet surface should encourage his cross-batted shots and Warner will be expected to live up to reputation against the Victorians at Sixers' home game.

All-rounder: Thisara Perera (9 credits)

The Sri Lankan all-rounder is in the form of his life and after a superb tour

All-rounder: Thisara Perera (9 credits)

The Sri Lankan all-rounder is in the form of his life and after a superb tour of New Zealand, he returned to slam a rip-roaring 74 in 26 balls studded with eight sixes. Thisara's terrific form combined with his bowling capabilities make him an enticing pick and a potential captaincy option. He should also be in for a promotion in the batting order given his form.

Bowler: Sohail Tanvir (8.5 credits)

The record holder for the best bowling figures in the IPL, Sohail Tanvir is as uncanny a customer as you would get in this format of the game. His wrong-footed seam bowling has befuddled batsmen and on a spicy wicket which will have something in it for the seamers early on, he should thrive. He made a good entry in the last game and should be warmed up enough to fire in this encounter.

Captain: Thisara Perera

Vice-captain: David Warner
