12th Match Preview: Sydney Sixers vs. Melbourne Renegades

The Sydney Sixers will travel to the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne to take on the hosts Melbourne Renegades on Saturday evening. The Sixers got off to a good start with win in the very first match of the season but have lost two matches on the trot since then. The main concern is their top order batting, which consistently fails to get off to good starts. The good form of Daniel Hughes and Jordan Silk in the middle order and Tom Curran and Sean Abbott down the order has somehow helped them to get to respectable totals.

The Renegades, on the other hand, are coming into this match on the back of victories in both of their previous encounters. Although their top order has also failed big time, their all-rounders and bowlers have been in top notch form. As the Renegades play at home on Saturday, they would be hoping for a turnaround of their top order fortunes.

Weather and Pitch Conditions: Light showers are expected but nothing much that could affect the length of the match. Pitch will favour the batsmen for the major duration of the match. However, there might be something on offer for bowlers in the initial overs of both innings due to overcast conditions. Dew might also be a factor later in the day.

Player Recommendations:

Wicket-keeper: Tim Ludeman (8.5 Cr)

The Renegades keeper hasn't had the best of starts to the tournament, being dismissed cheaply in both games; however, he bats at the top

Player Recommendations:

Wicket-keeper: Tim Ludeman (8.5 Cr)

The Renegades keeper hasn't had the best of starts to the tournament, being dismissed cheaply in both games; however, he bats at the top of the order and is a really dangerous batsman. All he needs is one game to click and this might just be that game.

Batsman: Daniel Hughes (9 Cr)

Hughes started off this season with a brilliant knock of 60-odd runs after the Sixers lost their first three wickets cheaply. He has had rather disappointing outings in the last two encounters but he would be eager to have runs under his belt in this match.

All-rounder: Mohammad Nabi (9 Cr)

The Afghan all-rounder has been a great asset for the Renegades since last season with both bat and ball. He has continued his good run of form this season as well. He was involved in a match winning fifth-wicket stand of 94 runs with Daniel Christian with an individual contribution of 46 runs in the previous match and had also accounted for a wicket. He is the go to man for the all-round position.

Bowler: Sean Abbott (9 Cr)

Abbott has been the leading paceman for the Sixers in the last three editions and has continued to be so in this season as well. He is the go-to-man for the Sixers with the ball and picks up wickets in almost every match.

Captain: Mohammad Nabi

Vice-Captain: Daniel Hughes
