Rakuten Monkeys (17-8) at Uni-President Lions (11-18)
Saturday, May 30, 5:05 AM EDT
Projected Starters
LHP Wang Yi-Cheng (4-1, 4.00 ERA) vs RHP Josh Roenicke (0-2, 10.67 ERA)
Game Preview
These teams actually managed to get a game in Friday, a rare occurrence given the rain that's wiped out most of the last two weeks' worth of games in Taiwan. The Monkeys took the series opener 3-1, extending their lead atop the standings to five games. They'll send veteran lefty Wang Yi-Cheng to the mound as they look to maintain that gap. Wang has managed a 4.00 ERA through his first five appearances this season, his lowest mark since 2014. The Lions will turn to American righty Josh Roenicke. The 37-year-old recorded strong ERAs of 3.17 and 3.50 in his first two seasons in Taiwan, but he's struggled to a 10.67 ERA in four appearances so far this year.

Wang Yi-Cheng, Monkeys: Josh Roenicke may have the stronger track record, and he'll save you four credits, so there's certainly a case to pick him here. He's been quite poor this season, however, and a game against the Monkeys isn't a great time to bet on a bounceback outing, so Wang gets the nod here.
Lin Li, Monkeys: As usual, Lin leads the way for the Monkeys' league-leading lineup. Even after a rare hitless day Friday, he's still hitting a remarkable .382 on the year, adding five homers and nine steals.
Chen Chen-Wei, Monkeys: Leadoff man Chen starts things off for a Monkeys lineup which could put up big numbers in this one if Roenicke continues to struggle. The strongest aspect of his game is his speed, as his 14 steals give him five more than anyone else in the league in that category.
Wu Chieh-Jui, Lions: Wu remains an excellent cheap way to get a Lion into your lineup. He's settled into the second spot in the order but costs just eight credits, as he only recently made his season debut and has appeared in just five games this year. He's been good in those five games, though, hitting .333 and scoring five runs.
