Game Preview
The Guardians are in the midst of a slump, winning just one of their last six games. They could certainly do worse than turning to veteran righty Henry Sosa as they look to turn things around, however. Sosa struggled through 10 starts for a terrible Houston Astros team back in 2011 but has since carved out a strong career overseas, including eight seasons in South Korea. He spent half of last season with the Guardians, recording an excellent 1.56 ERA in 12 starts. He hasn't been quite as elite in three starts to open the 2020 season, but it's still hard to complain about his 3.15 ERA. He'll face a tough task against a hot Lions offense which has scored 40 runs in its last four games, winning three of those contests. Facing him for the Lions is 24-year-old lefty Chiang Chen-Yen. He was blown up by the Monkeys in his latest start, giving up nine runs in four innings. In 95 innings last season, he recorded an unremarkable 5.40 ERA.

Henry Sosa, Guardians: The Lions' offense may be on fire, but if there's anyone who can shut it down, it's Sosa. He went 4-1 against them last season, striking out 36 batters in 34 innings.
Fan Kuo-Chen, Guardians: The Guardians need someone to kick-start their sputtering offense, which has scored just 13 runs over the last five games. Fan could be that guy, as he's gone 19-for-50 (good for a .380 batting average) against lefties over the last two seasons.
Lin An-Ko, Lions: If the Lions do beat the odds and put up a big number against Sosa, expect Lin to be one of the catalysts. The Lions' number three hitter has homered in three straight games (including a grand slam Thursday) and has driven in 11 runs over his last four contests.
Su Chih-Chieh, Lions: Su has followed Lin to form a strong one-two punch in the middle of the Lions' lineup. He's riding a seven-game hitting streak, scoring nine times and knocking in eight runs over that stretch.
