Chinatrust Brothers (6-8) at Rakuten Monkeys (10-3)
Sunday, May 3, 5:05 AM EDT
Projected Starters
LHP Jose De Paula (0-3, 5.12 ERA) vs RHP Weng Wei-Chun (1-1, 6.97 ERA)
Game Preview
The Monkeys evened the series at one apiece by winning a 16-11 shootout Saturday, the highest-scoring game of the CPBL season thus far. The Brothers will turn to Dominican lefty Jose De Paula in the rubber match. The 32-year-old made a single appearance at the MLB level for the Yankees back in 2015 but couldn't stick in the league, eventually heading to Mexico for two seasons. His 5.12 ERA through his first three CPBL starts isn't particularly inspiring, though he's struck out a respectable 23.2 percent of opposing batters. He's yet to face the Monkeys. For their part, the league-leading Monkeys will hand the ball to struggling second-year pitcher Weng Wei-Chun. After posting a 6.14 ERA in 70.1 innings as a rookie last season, he's allowed eight earned runs in 10.1 innings so far this year.

Top Picks
Lin Li, Monkeys: Lin features in this spot frequently, but as the number two hitter on the most potent offense in the league, that's unlikely to change any time soon. The third baseman owns a career .411 batting average against left-handed pitchers.
Lin Hung-Yu, Monkeys: Lin continues to be the best use of a catcher spot in the league. The Monkeys' designated hitter and cleanup man is hitting .411 with three homers and 14 RBI in 13 games, all while costing a very reasonable 12 credits.
Su Wei-Ta, Brothers: Su remains a steal at just nine credits. He's recorded multi-hit games in four straight contests and six of his last seven games, hitting .441 with three home runs over that stretch.
Chu Yu-Hsien, Monkeys: Yu-Hsien remains worth his high price despite the fact that he continues to bat in the bottom half of the Monkeys' loaded lineup. His four-hit performance Saturday included his league-leading ninth home run of the season, giving him four more than second-place Lin An-Ko of the Lions.
