Chinatrust Brothers (12-14) at Uni-President Lions (11-16)
Tuesday, May 26, 6:35 AM EDT
Projected Starters
LHP Jose De Paula (1-5, 5.45 ERA) vs LHP Chiang Chen-Yen (2-2, 7.20 ERA)
Game Preview
Both sides played just a single game last week, with rainouts washing away the entire schedule except for Sunday's games. Rain appears to be threatening yet another cancellation in this one. If it does indeed end up going forward, lefty Jose De Paula will be on the mound for the visiting Brothers. His 5.45 ERA through his first six CPBL starts looks quite poor on the surface, but it comes with a solid 1.32 WHIP and is a healthy amount below the league-average 6.22 ERA in a season in which offense has absolutely exploded. Opposing him for the Lions will be another lefty, Chiang Chen-Yen. The 24-year-old has struggled this year, posting a 7.20 ERA and a 1.75 WHIP, numbers which look bad even in a high-offense era.
Brothers' Last Lineup

P Jose De Paula, Brothers: Neither pitcher inspires a ton of confidence, but De Paula has been the better arm this season and also comes 4.5 credits cheaper

Top Picks
P Jose De Paula, Brothers: Neither pitcher inspires a ton of confidence, but De Paula has been the better arm this season and also comes 4.5 credits cheaper than Chiang Chen-Yen. He's trending in the right direction, too, striking out 12 Lions while allowing just a single run in seven innings his last time on the mound.
Chan Tzu-Hsien, Brothers: As a right-handed cleanup hitter, Chan makes for a strong captain choice against the left-handed Chiang. He's hitting .302 this season and is tied for third on the team with 15 RBI.
Wu Tung-Jung, Brothers: Wu is one of the best values in the contest, costing just nine credits while occupying the second spot in the Brothers' lineup. He's hitting .388 while scoring 18 times in 20 games this season.
Wu Chieh-Jui, Lions: Those predicting a Lions victory in this one may want to consider Wu as captain. The right-handed number two hitter has started three straight games for the Lions, going 5-for-12 at the plate.
Captaincy Options
1. Chan Tzu-Hsien
2. Wu Tung-Jung
