Rain yet again won the day Friday. The Monkeys and Lions were able to get their game in, but these two sides were unable to play yet again. The Brothers will stick with Mitch Lively as their scheduled starter in this one. The veteran righty has made just two appearances this season, allowing five runs in six innings of work, but his overall resume at the start of his third CPBL season is quite solid. He's recorded a career 3.69 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP in 324 innings in Taiwan. The Guardians will shake things up, turning to another American righty, Bryan Woodall. Woodall recorded ERA's below 4.00 in each of his first four seasons in the CPBL, but he slipped to a 5.48 ERA last season and has a very poor 7.71 ERA and a 1.71 WHIP through six appearances this year. Mitch Lively, Brothers: The Guardians may be entering this one on a bit of a hot streak, but Lively has the talent to shut them down. He's barely pitched this season but was excellent last year, finishing second among qualified starters with a 3.23 ERA.
Chang Chih-Hao, Brothers: Chang has been on a tear lately and is a worthy captain choice. He's homered in four straight games and six of his last seven contests, giving him a .680 slugging percentage to go along with his .371 batting average.
Su Wei-Ta, Brothers: If not for Chang's incredible hot streak, Su would likely be the Brothers' best captain option. His four homers on the season are second only to Chang's eight, and he's scored 23 times and driven in 22 runs in 26 games.
Kao Kuo-Lin, Guardians: Kao makes for a strong captain choice for those siding with the Brothers in this one. He's hitting .329 with five homers this season.
