Cavaliers Hold Off Pistons To Secure Win
The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Detroit Pistons, 110-101, at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday.

The Cavaliers (11-9) and the Pistons (2-18) engaged in a tight battle. However, the Cavaliers held on every time the Pistons attempted to turn things around, and they escaped with the victory. Detroit looked better early on and raced to a 30-25 lead in the first quarter, but the Cavaliers flipped the script in the second quarter. A sound defensive performance allowed the Cavs to turn things around and grab the lead before the break with a 29-18 score in the second quarter. The Pistons tried to shift the momentum, and they reduced the lead after winning the third quarter by a 34-31 score. However, the Cavaliers didn’t allow their rivals to complete the comeback. Cleveland closed things out by winning the fourth quarter by a 25-19 score. With the win, the Cavaliers moved to 6-3 on the road. Meanwhile, the Pistons fell to 1-9 at home and extended their losing streak to 19 games.

Max Strus and Darius Garland led the way for the Cavaliers here, finishing with 22 points and five assists each. Strus also had five rebounds, while Garland grabbed two boards and recorded three steals. Donovan Mitchell finished with 20 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals. Jarrett Allen contributed 19 points and 11 rebounds. Evan Mobley also grabbed 11 rebounds, but he only scored six points. Georges Niang had 12 points off the bench.

Cade Cunningham had 23 points and 11 assists while adding eight rebounds. Jalen Duren had 17 points and 12 rebounds. Isaiah Stewart recorded 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals. Killian Hayes had 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Bogdan Bogdanovic mustered 22 points in his first appearance of the season.
