76ers dominate Wizards 146-101
The Philadelphia 76ers (15-7) blew out the Washington Wizards (3-19) 146-101 at the Wells Fargo Arena on Monday night.

The 76ers dominated right out of the game, taking a 16-point lead after the first quarter. They didn’t let up, as they won the second quarter 32-19 to take a 29-point lead into halftime and held a 45-point lead after three frames. The Wizards struggled at both ends of the floor, shooting just 42.4 percent from the floor, 29.0 percent from three, and missed 11 of 31 free throw attempts.

As has been the case for most of the season, Philadelphia was led by reigning MVP Joel Embiid, who finished the game with an efficient 34 points (14-20 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 10 rebounds, six assists and two steals, while Tyrese Maxey played second-fiddle once again with 24 points and six assists. Thanks to their large lead, the 76ers were able to play all 10 of their bench players, with three of them – Marcus Morris, Patrick Beverely and Danuel House – each reaching double-digit point totals.

There wasn’t much positivity for the Wizards outside of Kyle Kuzma, who led the way with 21 points and nine rebounds. Jordan Poole was able to reach double digits with 11 points but shot just 3-for-11 from the field, committed three turnovers and finished with a minus-30 point differential, second worst only to Deni Avdija. Bilal Coulibaly managed to play a team-high 30 minutes in Monday’s game and registered 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

It was the Wizards’ fifth straight loss and 14th defeat in 15 games as they sit just one game ahead of the Detroit Pistons (2-21) at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, and will head back to Washington to host the New Orleans Pelicans. Meanwhile, the 76ers have now won three straight and will hit the road to take on the Pistons.
