Trail Blazers Top Nets After Overtime
The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Brooklyn Nets after overtime, 134-127, at Barclays Center on Sunday.

The Trail Blazers (10-25) escaped with a huge road win over the Nets (16-21) in a game that needed extra time to find a winner. Portland had to work hard, however, and they came back from an eight-point deficit in the fourth quarter to come away with the victory. The Nets enjoyed a solid start following a 30-26 score in the opening 12 minutes, but Portland kept things close following a 24-22 score in the second quarter. The Nets would pull away for good in the third quarter after a 41-35 score, and they held an eight-point advantage leading to the final 12 minutes. However, Portland responded when the team had its backs against the wall. A 30-22 score in the fourth quarter allowed them to force overtime, and Portland also looked the better team in those extra five minutes. Carrying the momentum from the fourth-quarter comeback, Portland edged Brooklyn by a 19-12 score in the final five minutes to secure the victory. With the win, the Blazers moved to 5-14 on the road, while the Nets fell to 10-9 at home.

Anfernee Simons led the way for the Blazers with 38 points and 11 assists. Jerami Grant notched 27 points. Duop Reath had 15 points and 13 rebounds. Scoot Henderson delivered 10 points, four assists and three rebounds. Shaedon Sharpe impressed off the bench and finished with 21 points across 40 minutes. Malcolm Brogdon posted 18 points, three rebounds and two assists coming off the bench.

Mikal Bridges, who forced overtime with a clutch jumper, led the Nets with 42 points, four rebounds and three assists. Cameron Johnson delivered 17 points, six rebounds and three assists. Nic Claxton had another double-double after posting 16 points and 11 rebounds, though he also added three assists, four blocks and two steals. Spencer Dinwiddie had five points (1-6 FG). Day’Ron Sharpe notched 11 points and six rebounds. Dennis Smith Jr. had a 10-point, 10-assist double-double off the bench.
