There are 11 games on Wednesday's slate, meaning there are plenty of players to choose from for your daily lineups. Ahead we will look at players who have been streaking since the break but are still reasonably priced. Also, we will check in on a few who have unfavorable matchups. With so many options to choose from, it is essential to get big nights from as many players as you can.
GUARD
Chris Paul, LAC vs. OKC ($45) - Paul has scored more than 40 fantasy points in eight consecutive games, averaging 25.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 10.9 dimes, 2.4 steals and 2.3 triples for 47.2 fantasy points per game over that time. That type of production is up there with any other top tier player's peak eight-game stretch this season. However, even though he is playing as well as anyone in the league right now, his price is still well below other top tier guards like Russell Westbrook and James Harden. Also, Paul will be playing in a marquee matchup versus the Thunder, who allow the fourth-most fantasy points per game to point guards this season.
Shelvin Mack, UTA at TOR ($10) - If you're going to pay for somebody expensive like Paul, it is always nice to have somebody at the minimum price who can still put up solid production. Mack is a perfect example because his price has not caught up to his performance yet. He entered the Jazz's rotation five games ago and has started the last four. He has averaged 19.6 fantasy points per game during that stretch, and that includes one dud of 7.4. He is averaging 13.0 points, 2.2 boards, 2.8 assists, 1.0 steal, and 0.8 threes in 27.9 minutes per game during that span. The minutes may be the biggest cause for optimism because as he gets more comfortable in in the rotation he should see even better production.
Guard to Avoid
E'Twaun Moore, CHI at ORL ($14) - Moore has gotten a lot of run in recent weeks due to injuries to Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose, so he has seen his price rise a bit. He has performed relatively well overall, with a few duds sprinkled in there during that span. This is not a matchup to hope for a big outing, however, as the Magic are one of the better perimeter defensive teams in the league. Specifically, their defense of the shooting guard position is top notch, allowing the second-fewest fantasy points per game this season.
FORWARD
Giannis Antetokounmpo, IND at MIL ($31) - The Greek Freak may finally be making the leap. He has been on a tear since the All-Star break, averaging 45 fantasy points per game over his last seven. Included in those seven games were his first and second career triple-doubles, resulting in two games with over 60 fantasy points. During that time he is filling up the stat sheet with 17.3 points, 12.1 boards, 6.6 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.9 blocks in 38 minutes per game. Given the numbers he is putting up, and his current price, his value is very high right now. He should be able to continue rolling when the Bucks welcome the Pacers to the Bradley Center.
Marvin Williams, CHA at PHI ($18) - When Al Jefferson returned from injury it seemed likely that Williams' role would decline, but in the five games he has been back Williams has actually been performing slightly better. During that span, he is scoring 33 fantasy points per game by averaging 15.0 points, 9.8 boards, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.8 blocks, and 2.6 triples in 30.2 minutes per contest. Those type of numbers aren't typically associated with somebody at a price of $18. Also, he has a very advantageous matchup Wednesday against the 76ers, who are giving up the second-most fantasy points per game to power forwards this season.
Forward to Avoid
Marcus Morris, DET at SAS ($19) - Morris has been playing very well since the All-Star break. He and Tobias Harris seem to have found a nice rapport since the Pistons traded for him. Do not expect the good times to keep rolling for Morris and Harris, however, because they will be going up against the best defensive team in the league in San Antonio. The Spurs are nearly unbeatable at home, and they are giving up a league-best 92.5 points per game. Morris will be defended by Kawhi Leonard, who is almost universally accepted as the best defender in the league. Due to his stingy defense, the Spurs are giving up the fewest fantasy points per game to small forwards this season.
CENTER
Dwight Howard, HOU vs NOP ($28) - After much speculation about a potential trade, Houston opted to hold onto their enigmatic center. All of the potential trade chatter must have gotten to Howard, because he has been playing well since the break, averaging 33 fantasy points per game over his last eight. Howard's ability has never been in question, it is his health and focus that have been cause for concern. He now draws a very favorable matchup Wednesday against the Pelicans, who are allowing the second-most fantasy points per game to centers this year, and Anthony Davis is also questionable for the game.
Center to Avoid
Jonas Valanciunas, TOR vs UTA ($20) - Valanciunas has been been a bit underwhelming since the All-Star break, scoring over 30 fantasy points just once in the last five games. In fact, he has not scored more than 21.9 in his last three games. Besides the lack of promising play, his matchup is the main reason to avoid him Wednesday. The Jazz are allowing the third-fewest fantasy points per game to centers this year because of their twin towers in Derrick Favors and Rudy Gobert. Utah is also giving up the third-fewest points per game (97.2) in the league overall.
