2025 Fantasy Outlook
Isak is coming off his best season as a professional, lighting the league up with a career-high 23 goals, finishing second in the Golden Boot race. He added six assists and had multi-goal contribution games in six different outings. While seemingly dealing with a nagging injury the majority of the second half of the season, he battled through and started 34 matches. His summer has been thrown into disarray as he pushes for a move away from Newcastle. With reports that he is refusing to play for the club again it's hard to see him suiting up on Tyneside during the 2025/26 campaign. If he does get his move to Liverpool he would remain one of the top strikers in the league and an elite option in all competitions.

Aiming for return Wednesday
Isak is out for Sunday's match against Burnley and is expected to be fit for Wednesday's match against Atletico Madrid, according to his club.
ANALYSIS
Isak was back on the field over the break with Sweden, but has yet to see his Liverpool debut, as the forward is sidelined as he continues to regain fitness. That said, he will continue to train with his teammates this week and make his debut in UCL action on Wednesday. He is likely to see a start once with the team, bagging 23 goals in 34 appearances last season.

Needs to build fitness
Isak still needs to build on his fitness and won't play full games until he reaches full fitness, coach Arne Slot said in the press conference, according to the Liverpool Echo. "First of all, the Swedish manager Tomasson deserves a big compliment because he gets maybe the best striker in the world in and needs him for his country but understands that playing him might result in injuries, so he took care of the player and he deserves a big compliment for that. We will treat Alex the same, so don't expect 90 mins every week, he missed pre-season and team sessions so we have to build him up gradually. But that will be a challenge but we have signed him for six years, so this is what the fans have to keep in mind if I bring him in."

Features 20 minutes with Sweden
Isak has featured only 20 minutes in two games with Sweden as he is still building his fitness, coach Jon Dahl Tomasson said in a press conference, according to Tom Olver from Metro. "This was the maximum number of minutes I could give him. We have talked in recent days about what risks there are and what is not a risk. It is extremely difficult to take a risk. I want to play him every minute. You can see right away that he is dangerous and creates things. But we also need him next month, the month after that and next year."

Out for opener
Isak (transfer) is expected to miss the season opener against Aston Villa, per manager Eddie Howe."I want Alex to be playing today. I want him training tomorrow. We would love the player to be with us, let me make that absolutely clear. There is no part of me that does not want that outcome. But I don't see the current situation changing before Aston Villa"

Reds to launch final bid?
Liverpool are expected to launch a final bid for Isak, according to The Telegraph.
ANALYSIS
Liverpool only have a few days to get a deal done for Isak, and they're set to launch what would be a new British transfer record to secure the services of the Swede. Liverpool are expected to make an improved £130 million offer for the 25-year-old, but the add-ons and bonuses on the deal would make this transfer the most expensive one in Premier League history. It's unclear if Newcastle would be open to accept such offer, though.
