ANALYSIS

Handed questionable decision
Gomis defeated Joanderson Brito via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Paris.
ANALYSIS
A Paris native, Gomis got some home cooking from the judges in a fight in which he was very fortunate to emerge victorious. The first round could have gone either way, although a Brito takedown seemed to be arguably the most notable moment of the frame. Brito was much better in Round 2, while Gomis rebounded some in Round 3. Neither man could have felt comfortable when the decision was announced, but most people that watched this fight will likely tell you Gomis got a break. A technical striker with questionable secondary skills, William is a perfect 4-0 with the UFC, with two split decisions, a majority decision, and a knockout win on his resume.

Scheduled for UFC Paris
Gomis will take on Joanderson Brito in a featherweight matchup at UFC Paris on September 28, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Gomis is riding a three-fight winning streak since joining the UFC and most recently picked up his first finish with the company with a third-round knockout of Yanis Ghemmouri in September. He now draws Brito, who has won five fights in a row -- all via stoppage. Brito employs a wrestling-based approach, while Gomis sports a respectable 81 percent takedown defense.

Pay-per-view fight scrapped
Gomis will not fight Jean Silva at UFC 301, according to MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS
Despite successfully making weight for the pay-per-view, Gomis vomited and was clearly in poor condition just before hopping on the scale. He may need some time to re-adjust before his next fight.
