Dreadful UFC 309 performance
Silva lost to Viviane Araujo via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 309 on Saturday in New York City.
ANALYSIS
Entering with an undefeated mark in her first four UFC bouts and widely viewed as a future title challenger at 125 pounds, Silva will see her stock come crashing down after this performance. She certainly had her moments, and there's most definitely a case to be made she was responsible for the more notable moments of the fight, but Silva's cardio looked terrible, and that led to her flopping to her back on multiple occasions in Round 3 hoping for a rest. The optics were absolutely awful, and the judges weren't fooled by the performance. Set to turn 31 years of age in early-December, Silva is not some young prospect. The only thing saving her for the moment is the fact she competes in a division with very little depth.

Will face Araujo
Silva will take on Viviane Araujo in a flyweight bout at UFC 309 in New York City, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Silva will look to remain perfect in the UFC. Sitting at 5-0-0, she's coming off a win over Ariane Lipski, her first UFC opponent she didn't dispose of in the first round. She'll look to keep the momentum going against Araujo, who carries a 6-5-0 record with her and was most recently defeated by Natalia Silva via unanimous decision in February.

Remains perfect in UFC
Silva defeated Ariane Lipski via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC on ESPN 55 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This was Silva's fourth UFC bout. She won each of the prior three via first-round submission. She had to work harder against Lipski, but was still dominant in many respects. Silva wisely leaned on her wrestling game, connecting on 5-of-6 takedowns for 7:32 worth of control time. Her striking is questionable and she definitely slowed down in Round 3, but Silva is very strong for the division and a legitimate high-end grappler. That alone should be enough to get her past the majority of her opponents at 125 pounds. Not a kid at age 30, it will be interesting to see how quickly the UFC decides to push the Brazilian.

Set to face Ariane Lipski
Silva agreed to fight Ariane Lipski at UFC's April 27 event, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Silva's UFC career is off to a hot start with three straight Round 1 victories via submission, and her next matchup is now on the calendar. Lipski is also trending up with three straight victories, though she lost three of four prior to that streak.

Starts night with victory by sub
Silva defeated Maryna Moroz via submission (guillotine choke) at 4:59 of Round 1 at UFC 292 on Saturday in Boston.
ANALYSIS
Silva doubled the amount of total strikes landed by Moroz (52-to-25) and even executed a takedown, but still found herself in a not-so-favorable position later in the round. That didn't matter in the least, however, as Silva threw up a guillotine from her back that had Moroz tapping just seconds before the final bell rang for Round 1. A former Contender Series product, Silva is now 3-0 under the UFC banner, with all three victories coming by first-round submission. The 29-year-old appears due for a step up in competition next time out.
