Gets right back in win column
Bonfim defeated Vinc Pichel via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC 301 on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
Entering as upwards of a -600 favorite, Bonfim was expect to dominate this fight, and he did just that, from start to finish. Yes, Ismael was blessed with a massive speed and athleticism edge over the aging Pichel, but he deserves credit for taking his time and going about things in a smart manner and not allowing his opponent any openings to pull a potential upset. Bonfim was fresh off a first-round submission defeat to Benoit Saint-Denis last July, but there's no shame in that given the latter's strong run of late. Bonfim improves to 2-1 in his first three UFC bouts.

Comes in heavy
Bonfim missed the lightweight limit and will face Vinc Pichel at a catchweight at UFC Sao Paulo on Saturday, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.comreports.
ANALYSIS
Both fighters came in heavy at the initial weigh-in, but Pichel was able to make weight on a second attempt. Bonfim is coming off a loss to Benoit Saint-Denis in July, while Pichel is also fresh off a loss to Mark Madsen in the spring.

Another homecoming scheduled
Bonfim will compete against Vinc Pichel in a lightweight fight at UFC Sao Paulo on Nov. 4, according to Nolan King of USA Today.
ANALYSIS
Bonfim's next fight will be back in his native Brazil. The last time Bonfim fought there, he knocked out Terrance McKinney with a flying knee. Scheduled against a tenacious but 40-year-old fighter in Pichel, the Brazilian has a legitimate opportunity to redeem himself after tapping out to Benoit Saint-Denis in his last bout at UFC Vegas 76.
