Big-time weight miss
Nurgozhay came in 4.5 pounds overweight ahead of Saturday's bout with Brendson Ribeiro, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurgozhay weighed in at 210.5 pounds, 4.5 pounds over the 206-pound weight limit for the heavyweight class. The 27-year-old newcomer will likely have to forfeit a significant portion of his fight purse in his UFC debut if the fight continues as scheduled.

Set to debut against Ribeiro
Nurgozhay will fight Brendson Ribeiro at UFC Vegas 104 on March 15, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurgozhay will enter his first UFC event with a perfect 10-0 record as a professional fighter and will face off against an opponent who has lost two of his first three fights in the promotion. However, the 27-year-old newcomer will have to overcome a seven-inch reach disadvantage to capture his first UFC victory.

Gets contract with head kick finish
Nurgozhay defeated Bartosz Szewczyk via KO (head kick and punches) at 3:32 of Round 2 at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the show, he was one of five fighters to be awarded an official UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
This fight went off as a pick'em, and the first round reflected that, as both men were dead even in terms of significant strikes. Szewczyk did most of his damage with kicks, while Nurgozhay focused on the head and body. Nurgozhay started to pull away in Round 2, but it was a head kick as Szewczyk was circling away that sent him to the canvas. Nurgozhay only needed a few follow-up shots to turn his opponent's lights out and become the latest addition to the UFC's light heavyweight division.
