Facing Patterson in March
Barlow will take on Sam Patterson in a welterweight matchup at UFC Vegas 103 on March 1, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Barlow will look to stay unbeaten in the UFC (2-0) and as a pro (8-0), though his last win wasn't quite as satisfying due to a slight weight miss. Assuming he has the scales under control, he should enter as a slight favorite against his latest opponent, who is 1-2. Barlow has the statistical advantages in terms of striking volume and accuracy, though he'll likely be forced to defend the takedown against Patterson. Fortuantely for Barlow, he has yet to be taken down in two trips to the Octagon (as well as a Contender Series appearance).

Picks up win after weight miss
Barlow defeated Nikolay Veretennikov via split decision (29-28, 27-30, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was an underwhelming performance from Barlow despite the fact he got the victory he came for. He missed weight by a quarter pound Friday morning and was forced to hand over a portion of his purse to Veretennikov in order for the bout to proceed. Inside the Octagon, Barlow got the better of the action for ten minutes, although not by much considering neither man did much of anything. He appeared dead tired in Round 3 and essentially stumbled to the finish line, allowing Veretennikov to land some massive blows in the final frame. The power is legitimate, but Barlow's cardio is questionable, as is the rest of his offensive game. Now 2-0 in the UFC, the Memphis native should get a stiffer test his next time out.

Barely misses weight
Barlow missed weight by .25 pounds ahead of his scheduled bout with Nikolay Veretennikov on Saturday, per MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS
Checking in at 171.25 pounds, Barlow is over the weight limit by a razor thin margin. Even if he can't shed the extraneous weight by reweighs, this is a fight that should ultimately proceed as planned.

Fighting Veretennikov in August
Barlow will take on Nikolay Veretennikov at a UFC event in Las Vegas on August 10, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Barlow was previously slated to fight Uros Medic but will now face Veretennikov after Vekic dropped out of the bout due to a rib injury. Barlow will put his undefeated record on the line agaisnt Veretennikov, who will be making his UFC debut in the fight. The 6-foot-2 American will hope to use a size and reach advantage to take down the older Veretennikov, though he will need to remain alert to the 34-year-old Kazakhstani's considerable stopping power.

Seeking new opponent
Barlow appears to be in need of a new opponent for UFC Vegas 95 on Aug. 10 following the withdrawal of Uros Medic (ribs), which Medic disclosed via his personal Instagram account (via Octagon Update).
ANALYSIS
After a victorious debut over Josh Quinlan in February, Barlow as looking to build on his undefeated record at the UFC Apex in August. The UFC now has a month to find a new welterweight opponent if Barlow wishes to remain on the card.
