Barely gets by Nathan Fletcher
BantamweightUFC
March 22, 2025
Loughran defeated Nathan Fletcher via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in London.
ANALYSIS
Loughran could have very easily been looking at his second straight defeat and third in four UFC bouts, but two of the three judges thought he did enough to win. It didn't come easy. Loughran was able to get nothing going on the feet all night, but he managed to land 6-of-12 takedown attempts for 5:58 worth of control time. With the fight clearly tied at a round apiece, Loughran appeared to be in good shape in the final frame after he was able to pin Fletcher to the mat, but the latter was able to work his way back to his feet and unload on Caolan in the dying seconds. The 28-year-old has alternated wins and losses during his brief time with the company.

Struggles with opponent change
BantamweightUFC
July 27, 2024
Loughran lost to Jake Hadley via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC 304 on Saturday in Manchester, England.
ANALYSIS
Originally scheduled to face Ramon Taveras, Loughran agreed to this opponent change less than a week ago and ended up paying for it. He appeared stiff and robotic throughout the course of the fight, unable to get the timing of Hadley and constantly coming up short in the striking exchanges between the two. Loughran's grappling game wasn't much better, as he landed just 1-of-8 takedown attempts. It was a doubly frustrating performance when you consider Hadley's recent struggles. Loughran has now lost two of his first three UFC bouts.

Late-notice opponent change
BantamweightUFC
July 22, 2024
Loughran will now take on Jake Hadley in a bantamweight matchup at UFC 304 on Saturday, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Loughran was originally scheduled to face Ramon Taveras, who apparently withdrew a few days ago due to undisclosed reasons. In steps Hadley, a native of England who has lost back-to-back fights under the UFC banner, both via decision. Loughran will give up two inches in height and reach to Hadley, but he'll have statistical advantages in offensive striking and grappling, albeit over a smaller sample size.
