There's no guarantee the 28-year-old will be a regular in 2025-26, especially if a prospect like Owen Pickering steps up. 2024 Fantasy Outlook
Heading into training camp, Shea was likely viewed as a long shot to make the Penguins; Opening Night roster, especially with the emergence of Harrison Brunicke. Instead, the 27-year-old Shea will be with the team when it kicks off the season against the Rangers on Oct. 9. Even with a spot on the roster, Shea could struggle for regular minutes, likely serving as the seventh defenseman. Even if he does play, he probably shouldn't be expected to offer much in terms of fantasy value given his limited offensive upside.
