FanDuel NHL: Wednesday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Wednesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

It's a light schedule for the NHL on Wednesday, as there are only three games on the slate. Still, don't let an opportunity to play daily fantasy hockey pass you by. If you're interested, here are my recommendations for your lineup.

GOALIE

John Gibson, ANA vs. OTT ($7,900): Gibson has been doing everything he can to keep the Ducks afloat, as he has a .923 save percentage despite facing 34.6 shots on net per game. However, this may not be as busy of a day for the American goalie. The Senators have only averaged 29.1 shots on goal per contest, and their offense has been declining since a hot start to the season.

CENTER

Ryan Johansen, NAS at CHI ($6,000): Johansen has started 67.8 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, third highest on the Predators, and has averaged 3:16 of power-play time. He doesn't have a power-play goal yet, but he has 10 power-play assists in 44 contests. In addition to having a 3.60 GAA, the Blackhawks have the 30th-ranked penalty kill, which bodes well for Johansen.

Adam Henrique, ANA vs. OTT ($4,500): Of all the Anaheim centers, Henrique has actually played the best recently. He has eight goals and 23 points in 43 games, including seven points with the extra man. The Senators have the league's worst penalty kill, and they have an eye-popping 4.89 GAA on the road as well, making this one of the very best matchups in the league for the Ducks.

WING

Elias Lindholm, CGY vs. COL ($7,200): Playing on a line with Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau has led to Lindholm's numbers taking off into the stratosphere. He already has 20 goals and 50 points through 44 games, both career highs. The Avalanche have had issues in goal with a 3.23 team GAA away from Denver. On top of that, they are on the road for the second game of a back-to-back.

Kevin Fiala, NAS at CHI ($4,900): After some bad luck early in the season, Fiala has gotten hot recently. He's notched eight points in his last six games, including four with the extra man. Chicago has a 3.60 GAA, second highest in the NHL, and has also given up 34.8 shots on net per contest. Don't be surprised if Fiala stays hot.

Nick Ritchie, ANA vs. OTT ($3,600): Ritchie is currently skating on Anaheim's top line, and he's started 65.4 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone. That's tops among Ducks forwards. Getting playing time in Ottawa's zone is never a bad thing for a player. As previously noted, it has a 4.89 team GAA on the road, allowing 37.9 shots on average in that scenario.

DEFENSE

Noah Hanifin, CGY vs. COL ($4,500): Hanifin isn't scoring like teammate Mark Giordano, but he has 23 points in 44 games, which is nothing to sneeze at. Plus, he's been hot recently, as he has seven points in his last seven contests. December is in the rearview window now, but the Avalanche had a 3.57 team GAA last month.

Hampus Lindholm, ANA vs. OTT ($4,400): This is a rare day when two Lindholms get recommended. Hampus isn't scoring like his Elias Calgary, but he has 17 points in 37 games. He's also racking up a ton of minutes (25:29 in average ice time). I've already established just how bad the Senators have been on the road, but mentioning "4.89 team GAA" again certainly can't hurt.
