FanDuel NHL: Friday Targets

FanDuel NHL: Friday Targets

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

SLATE PREVIEW

All five games on Friday will be available for FanDuel's all-day slate while there will be four for the main slate without the slightly-earlier-than-usual puck drop for the Flames at Canadiens (6 p.m. EDT).

Otherwise, it's a nice staggered start with the Islanders at Bruins at 7 p.m., Sharks at Wild at 8 p.m., Kings at Avalanche at 9 p.m. and Golden Knights at Ducks at 10 p.m. All salaries reflected are for the all-day slate.

GOALIES

Devan Dubnyk, COL vs. LA ($8,600): So far, so good for Dubnyk, who won in his Avs' debut despite allowing three goals. That's probably par for the course for the rest of the season – letting in a few pucks, but continually getting bailed out by a superior offense. The Avs have won three of their past four against the Kings and have outshot them 87 (!) to 46 over their past two meetings.

Robin Lehner, VGK at ANH ($8,300): Lehner's last regulation loss was on Jan. 22 and his last start against the Ducks was relatively easy with a win and 20 saves. Four of their five meetings have been decided by just one goal, but there's no question the Golden Knights are the better team.

Cam Talbot, MIN vs. SJ ($8,000): The Sharks can rattle off four straight wins - including two against the Wild - and then go on to lose four of their next five with three of those against the worst team in the division. The Wild are struggling a bit, but Talbot's been solid for the most part winning three of his past five starts with the only defeat coming against the Avs.

Jacob Markstrom, CGY at MON ($7,500): This represents a good value play for a goalie and a team on the uptrend. The Habs are scary at even strength, but their special teams is awful and they have trouble scoring most nights. They've lost four of their past five, including a 4-1 loss to the Flames on Wednesday. They're trending in the wrong direction and the Eric Staal trade already looks questionable. Interesting to note that despite not generating much offense all season, the Flames have now produced 15 goals in their past four contests.

VALUE PLAYS

Travis Zajac, NYI at BOS ($3,600): Zajac played on the top line with Mathew Barzal and Jordan Eberle while potting a goal in 16 minutes of action. That's not a bad line for someone who doesn't offer much offense anymore, but he's surely an upgrade over Leo Komarov. If Zajac sticks on this trio, he could be a decent value play due to his exposure to the Isles' top center.

Jaret Anderson-Dolan, LA at COL ($3,200): It's more about Anderson-Dolan's role as the team's No. 2 center at even strength and power play than his offensive production or talent. With the Avs likely to start Dubnyk, it's hard to see him keep the Kings off the board. Anderson-Dolan has scored 10 points across 21 games, a pretty respectable pace considering he averages 15 minutes a night.

LINE STACKS

Bruins vs. Islanders

David Krejci (C - $5,100), Craig Smith (W - $5,000), Taylor Hall (W - $5,500)

Obviously, the Perfection Line is also a good line stack, but the B's new second line is starting to click. Hall scored his first goal as a Bruin and Smith continues to excel with four goals in his last five. The Islanders normally defend well, but they also allowed 45 shots on Thursday and you wonder about their defensive depth.

Golden Knights at Ducks

Chandler Stephenson (C - $4,000), Max Pacioretty (W - $7,800), Mark Stone (W - $7,000)

They combined for six points in their last outing against the Kings while the Ducks aren't as stout on defense with no one of Drew Doughty's caliber. Stephenson's offense comes and goes, but it's currently going right now with four points in four games.

DEFENSEMEN

Shea Theodore, VGK at ANH ($6,200): Theodore's posted four points in four meetings with the Ducks this season and I like his upside. His minutes have been slightly scaled back with Alex Pietrangelo back in the lineup, but he's still registered four assists in his past four with 12 shots.

Mark Giordano, CGY at MON ($5,600): The Flames' captain is on a hot streak with five points in his past three contests. And as noted previously, the Habs' special teams just isn't very good with a PK ranking 23rd in the league at a paltry 76.9 percent.

Mike Reilly, BOS vs. NYI ($3,900): I question Reilly's spot on PP1, but it looks like he's there to stay as long as Matt Grzelcyk is unavailable. Charlie McAvoy will eat into his minutes, but Reilly gets a big boost on a top-10 power play. He's notched an assist and eight shots in two games with his new club.
