2026 Golf Draft Kit: Best Major Championship Futures Bets

It's never too early to wager on major championships, and Ryan Pohle explains why he likes Cameron Young's chances to take down a big one in 2026.
2026 Golf Draft Kit: Best Major Championship Futures Bets

One of the best feelings in sports betting is securing a ticket on a golfer whose odds drop significantly before a tournament begins -- particularly when that tournament is a major championship.

As always, four of those will be played in 2026, and if you buy in early the payoff will be better if your player winds up in the winner's circle.

The Masters

The Course: Augusta National Golf Club

Best Bet: Cameron Young (40-1)

It feels like the floodgates could open for Young after he picked up his first PGA Tour victory at the Wyndham Championship in August. He followed it up with a pair of top-5s in the FedExCup Playoffs and was one of only two Americans to post three points at the Ryder Cup.

Young has a solid track history at Augusta National, posting top-10s in two of his last three trips down Magnolia Lane. His combination of length and putting -- he finished 17th and seventh, respectively, in 2025 -- and ability to take advantage of par-5s sets him up well for success at the year's first major.

PGA Championship

The Course: Aronimink Golf Club

Best Bet: Sam Burns (60-1)

The PGA Championship will head to Aronimink Golf Club just outside of Philadelphia in 2026. The venue last hosted the BMW Championship in 2018, an event won by Keegan Bradley at 20-under-par. Burns was on the Korn Ferry Tour at that time and will be making

Best Bet: Sam Burns (60-1)

The PGA Championship will head to Aronimink Golf Club just outside of Philadelphia in 2026. The venue last hosted the BMW Championship in 2018, an event won by Keegan Bradley at 20-under-par. Burns was on the Korn Ferry Tour at that time and will be making his debut at this track, but there aren't many courses that he doesn't fit well with how well-rounded his game is.

We often get Burns at a discount since his last win in a stroke-play tournament came in 2022, but he's a five-time winner on the PGA Tour and has 19 top-5s since 2021. Burns played his way onto the Ryder Cup team with a strong summer, and I expect him to maintain that momentum during the year ahead.

U.S. Open

The Course: Shinnecock Hills

Best Bet: Russell Henley (70-1)

I'm excited to see that the next U.S. Open will be held at Shinnecock Hills, because it's a track that can lead to carnage. Remember when Phil Mickelson was so fed up with the difficulty that he struck a moving ball on the putting surface in 2018? Brooks Koepka won at 1-over-par that year, while Henley -- nowhere near the player he is today -- finished a respectable T25.

With distance a key factor at Augusta and on PGA Championship setups, the short-hitting Henley's best chance at winning a major is likely the U.S Open, where he has recorded back-to-back top-10s. We saw him take his game to a new level in 2025, winning a Signature Event at Bay Hill while finishing T2 in the TOUR Championship.

The Open Championship

The Course: Royal Birkdale

Best Bet: Robert MacIntyre (40-1)

The Open Championship returns to Royal Birkdale, host of the 2017 event won by Jordan Spieth at 12-under-par. MacIntyre was an amateur back then, but the Scottish golfer has had plenty of success on links courses and plenty of familiarity at Open venues, with three top-10s across six appearances -- two more than any other major.

In addition to his two PGA Tour win in 2024, he bested a strong field on the DP World Tour in October, and with his multiple Ryder Cup appearances he clearly knows how to elevate in big moments. The 29-year-old is emerging as a top-10 player in the world, and he possesses one of the best short games on Tour as well as a nice combination of length and accuracy off the tee.
