2025 Fantasy Outlook
McCreary began his career primarily as an outside corner and with a full snap count, but things have progressively trended downward. Even with the Titans' secondary suffering several key injuries in 2024, he played exclusively in the slot. His performance also continues to decline, as he allowed a career-high 79.7 percent completion rate when targeted while being credited with just one pass breakup. McCreary is entering the final year of his rookie contract in 2025, and he doesn't appear likely to remain in Tennessee in the long term. That makes his role vulnerable if his performance continues to trend the wrong direction. Read Past Outlooks
Picks off Nix in Week 1 loss
McCreary logged five tackles (four solo) and an interception during the Titans' 20-12 loss to the Broncos on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
McCreary jumped in front of Courtland Sutton to pick off of an ill-advised throw from Bo Nix late in the first quarter, though the Titans' offense wasn't able to capitalize by producing a scoring drive despite the strong field position. McCreary played in 34 of the Titans' 76 defensive snaps Sunday and primarily worked as a slot corner and in nickel packages.

2022
The Titans had significant turnover in their secondary in 2022, giving McCreary the chance to step up in his rookie season. He played over 1,000 defensive snaps and showed some playmaking ability by breaking up eight passes and tallying one interception. However, he also surrendered seven touchdowns to opposing receivers and allowed 8.2 yards per target. McCreary isn't an outstanding athlete relative to his peers and isn't all that impressive in terms of size, though he should be able to diagnose opposing offenses more consistently and take a step forward in his sophomore campaign.

Contract talks hit snag
McCreary has yet to agree on a rookie contract as he looks to get more guaranteed years and salary, Dan Graziano of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
When the player actually will sign generally is the only drama involved in rookie contracts, but this year's crop of second-round picks gained some additional leverage in the process after the Texans gave safety Jalen Pitre, the 37th overall selection, three fully guaranteed years on his four-year rookie deal. McCreary, taken two picks earlier by the Titans, has a strong case to get a similar concession as he prepares to fill a starting cornerback role in the Tennessee secondary. Expect the two sides to work something out before training camp.
