2025 Fantasy Outlook
Used mostly as a possession receiver throughout college and into his rookie season, Bateman has been deployed as more of a deep threat the past three years and finally broke through in 2024, averaging 10.5 YPT and scoring nine times on 73 targets. That didn't do much for managers in full-PPR leagues, but it had some value under standard scoring, and even more value to the Ravens. He almost looked worthy of the first-round pick Baltimore spent on him back in 2021, and perhaps even worthy of larger target shares moving forward. Even so, there's not much reason to expect a jump in volume unless Baltimore's offense is decimated by injuries. Few teams use heavy formations more often, and arguably no team has a better collection of TEs, RBs and FBs, which means the Ravens not only run the ball frequently but also throw a large portion of their passes to non-WRs. Among the wide receivers, fellow first-round pick Zay Flowers (2023) has been steadily ahead of Bateman for short and intermediate targets ever since entering the league, with DeAndre Hopkins now offering additional competition. Misses practice Wednesday
Bateman (ankle) is not participating in the early portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bateman is managing an ankle sprain sustained during Baltimore's win over the Vikings in Week 10, and he now has just two opportunities left to get back on the practice field ahead of Sunday's divisional road matchup against Cleveland. Meanwhile, star quarterback Lamar Jackson (undisclosed) is also absent from Wednesday's practice, meaning the health of the Ravens' offense overall could be in flux for Week 11.

The good news for Bateman is that he stayed healthy for most of the 2023 season, after missing 16 games over his first two years in the league. The bad news is that averaged 2.0 catches and 22.9 yards per game, mostly working as Baltimore's third or fourth wide receiver. The Ravens apparently expect more of the 2021 first-round pick in 2024, with coach John Harbaugh referring to Bateman as a starter in February and the team then signing him to a two-year extension in April. He may be more explosive this year after last offseason was devoted to rehab from Lisfranc surgery, but target volume remains a significant issue with the Ravens sure to prioritize WR Zay Flowers and TE Mark Andrews as the top passing-game targets in an offense that always ranks near the top of the league in pass attempts. While Bateman may well take a step forward, he's unlikely to see enough volume to make noise in fantasy.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could be extended again
Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic believes Bateman's contract "situation bears watching" after his breakout 2024 season.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens shrewdly gave Bateman a two-year, $12.9 extension prior to the 2024 campaign, which now looks like a bargain. Bateman will play the first season of that contract in 2025, but it's possible the team will look to get the 2021 first-round draft pick under contract for longer if the Ravens see more untapped potential following Bateman's 756-yard, nine-touchdown output as a receiver in the 2024 regular season.
