26-Year-Old Running BackRB
San Francisco 49ers
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Taylor handled the most carries (32) over his three-year tenure with Green Bay in 2023 while backing up Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. This resulted in a new high-water mark for Taylor in production (141 yards from scrimmage), while averaging a healthy 4.4 yards per carry. The Memphis product signed on with San Francisco this offseason to compete for a backup/special teams role behind star running back Christian McCaffrey. Read Past Outlooks

Extra work Thursday
RBSan Francisco 49ers
October 11, 2024
Taylor rushed five times for 16 yards and caught his lone target for 12 yards in Thursday's 36-24 win over Seattle.
ANALYSIS
Starter Jordan Mason (shoulder) missed chunks of Thursday's victory due to injury, opening the door for Isaac Guerendo (10-99-0) and Taylor to split snaps in the interim. The 49ers' fourth-round rookie had the standout performance in the starter's absence, while Taylor produced just 3.2 yards per tote in his first action on offense this season. The 26-year-old Taylor could maintain a small role in San Francisco's Week 7 game plan if Mason is forced to sit against Kansas City due to the AC joint injury he sustained Thursday.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
2021
Taylor is entering his fourth season with the Packers, and he heads into training camp as the favorite to secure the third spot on the depth chart. His experience works in his favor, but he has averaged only 3.6 YPC for his career, and he will be pushed by the other running backs vying for a roster spot.
Taylor took the first carries of his NFL career in 2021 and averaged a respectable 3.9 YPC on 23 totes -- the third most on the team among players at his position. The Packers did little at the running back position over the offseason and fellow ball carrier Kylin Hill is still recovering from a knee injury, so heading into training camp Taylor is the favorite to open the season as Green Bay's No. 3 running back behind Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon.
Injuries limited Taylor in his 2020 rookie season, but he is healthy and ready to compete with Kylin hill and Dexter Williams for a roster spot.

Could miss out on 53-man roster
RBGreen Bay Packers
June 25, 2023
Matt Schneidman of The Athletic projects Taylor to get cut and wind up on Green Bay's practice squad.
ANALYSIS
Schneidman thinks the Packers could opt to roster only two running backs in Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon while using practice squad elevations to add a third running back for game days, with the likes of Taylor, Lew Nichols or Tyler Goodson competing for those spots. Taylor -- who has 120 yards and a touchdown on 33 rushing attempts over the past two seasons -- could still work his way onto the right side of the roster bubble with a strong preseason.
