2025 Fantasy Outlook
Evans was scooped up by the Panthers in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft after posting 421 yards and three TDs in 16 games for Notre Dame in 2024. That production was disappointing considering he needed only eight games to rack up 422 yards in 2023. Carolina’s an intriguing landing spot for the 6-foot-5, 253-pound TE given the team’s lack of established talent at the position, though 2024 fourth-round pick Ja’Tavion Sanders has more pass catching upside than Evans, and Tommy Tremble’s a better blocker. Evans doesn’t have any glaring holes in his game, which could help him earn a role on offense out of the gate, but separating from NFL defenders will be tough with his underwhelming 4.72 speed. Nabs 21-yard reception
Evans played 39 of the Panthers' 67 snaps on offense and hauled in a 21-yard reception on his lone target in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
For the third game in a row, the rookie fifth-round pick out of Notre Dame served as Carolina's No. 2 tight end behind Tommy Tremble while usual starter Ja'Tavion Sanders (ankle) was sidelined once again. Evans had come through with touchdowns in the previous two contests, and though he didn't find paydirt Sunday, his 21-yard catch was the Panthers' third-longest play of the day and helped set up a field goal in the first quarter. Despite making a bit of splash in his backup role the past three games, Evans is still likely to see his playing time take a hit if Sanders is back in action Week 7 against the Jets.

Fourth-round pick in Reuter's mock
Chad Reuter of NFL.com's mock draft 2.0 has Evans going to the Vikings in the fourth round.
ANALYSIS
Evans had 422 receiving yards in eight games for Notre Dame in 2023, then just 421 yards in 16 games in 2024, though he increased his touchdown total from one to three. If Evans goes to Minnesota, he would project to occupy a backup role behind T.J. Hockenson.
