Rest-of-Season Projections
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Hill is coming off his most productive NFL season since being a fourth-round pick in 2019, but his 2023 numbers could be his ceiling. The Ravens brought in Derrick Henry this offseason, giving them a true bell cow after years of deploying a committee, and the former Titan is used to handling a huge workload. Baltimore may not give him 300-plus carries the way Tennessee did, but he should see a lot more than what Gus Edwards got last year. Hill will compete for backup snaps with Keaton Mitchell once the latter is fully recovered from his ACL tear. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Three grabs in Sunday's rout
Hill carried the ball five times for 15 yards and caught all three of his targets for 43 yards in Sunday's 41-10 win over the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
The 58 scrimmage yards were Hill's largest total since Week 4, when he posted a 6-78-1 line on six targets against the Bills. It was a good time for Hill to produce decent numbers, as Keaton Mitchell (knee) is getting close to making his season debut and could push for the No. 2 job in the Ravens' backfield. Neither RB is likely to see a big workload as long as Derrick Henry is healthy, however.

After having dealt with injuries and players being signed or drafted over him, Hill turned in his best professional season in 2022. He averaged 5.3 yards per carry over 49 attempts and secured all 12 of his targets in his first season back from an Achilles injury. Only Kenyan Drake, who is now a free agent, played more backfield snaps for the Ravens than Hill in 2022. The important context behind that is that J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards were both eased into action after missing 2021 with their own season-ending injuries. Now that both are further removed from ACL issues, Hill projects to break camp as the No.3 running back on the depth chart. His main competition for a roster spot will be undrafted rookie Keaton Mitchell.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely to open season as No. 2 back
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday that he doesn't expect Keaton Mitchell to return from a torn ACL until "sometime during the season," leaving Hill as the favorite to begin the campaign as the top backup to Derrick Henry.
ANALYSIS
In Mitchell's absence, Hill's biggest competition for the second spot on the running back depth chart will come from rookie fifth-round draft pick Rasheen Ali, but Ali is currently dealing with a biceps injury. Hill displayed promising versatility in 2023, rushing for 387 yards and three touchdowns while adding 206 yards and another score. Considering that Baltimore has often taken a committee approach to its backfield in recent years along with the fact that Henry is now 30 years old, Hill would likely be poised for a prominent role as long as he maintains the top backup spot.
