2024 Fantasy Outlook
Flacco signed a one-year deal in March with $4.5 million guaranteed to back up Anthony Richardson in Indianapolis. Flacco gives the Colts a veteran capable of keeping the team afloat should Richardson go down. That’s what he did last year in Cleveland, after joining the Browns in mid-November. By December, he was the starter and guided the Browns to the playoffs, earning Comeback Player of the Year honors. Flacco’s on-target rate was 67.6 percent -- 33rd of 35 QBs with at least 200 attempts -- partly because he went downfield at such a high rate -- 38.3 percent of attempts went at least 10 yards (2nd), 12.3 percent at least 20 yards (3rd). Among QBs with at least 200 attempts, his 9.3 air yards per attempt ranked second and his 7.9 YPA was sixth. Flacco still has a strong arm, and at 39, he still has something left in the tank. Will start again in Week 10
Coach Shane Steichen announced Monday that Flacco will remain the Colts' starting quarterback for Week 10 against the Bills, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.
ANALYSIS
As Anthony Richardson was benched, Flacco was given the starting reins last week, but the veteran face-planted in his Sunday night start against the Vikings, when he completed just 16 of 27 pass attempts (56.9 percent) for 179 scoreless yards and one interception. Flacco absorbed three sacks and failed to lead a single touchdown drive in the 21-13 loss. He'll get at least one more chance under center but gets another tough test versus Buffalo.

Flacco re-signed with the Jets during the offseason and enters camp as the favorite to beat out Mike White for the backup spot behind 2021 second overall pick Zach Wilson. The 37-year-old Flacco played well in limited action last year, coming nine yards short of 300 in his lone start of the season. Flacco could end up making the Week 1 start after Wilson injured his knee in the preseason opener.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Might reclaim starting job
Flacco could be under center against the Vikings in Week 9 after Colts coach Shane Steichen declined Monday to confirm that Anthony Richardson would remain the team's starting quarterback, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
"We're evaluating everything." Steichen said when asked if Richardson would get the start in Minnesota. Flacco played well when Richardson was injured earlier this season, completing 65.7 percent of his passes over three games with seven touchdowns against one interception, and even at this stage of his career, the 39-year-old is far more reliable than Richardson, who has completed only 35.7 percent of his passes in two contests since rejoining the lineup. If Flacco does get the nod in Week 9, it would provide a huge boost to the fantasy floors and ceilings of Colts pass catchers like Michael Pittman and Josh Downs.
