2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hunter's build is somewhat small at 5-foot-9, 204, but the fourth-round pick out of Auburn still runs with more power than most running backs and his 4.44 speed propels Hunter to big-play ability that most running backs lack. Kyren Williams is locked in as a three-down workhorse and 2024 third-round pick Blake Corum might have untapped ability yet, but Corum is unproven and Williams has had both injury and ball security issues in the past. Hunter's motor paired with his speed makes him capable of big plays even on small workloads, so it might not be easy for the Rams to put Hunter back on the shelf if he breaks big plays off the bench. Hunter finished his Auburn career with 3,371 yards (6.3 YPC) and 25 touchdowns on 539 carries, adding 68 receptions for 558 yards and four touchdowns. He probably needs to improve in blitz pickup and catching passes if he's ever going to feature into the game plan as a receiver, but if Hunter can provide easy yardage and big-play ability as a rushing specialist there still might be some role for him in the Rams offense. RANKS
Another heavy workload
Hunter rushed the ball 15 times for 55 yards in Saturday's 23-22 preseason win over the Chargers. He added one reception on one target for two yards.
ANALYSIS
Kyren Williams was rested, leaving Blake Corum as the starting back for the Rams. Hunter entered the game after one possession, but he appears to still be third on the depth chart entering the team's final preseason contest. He did show the ability to break tackles on a few of his carries while carrying a heavy workload in his second contest as a pro.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Impressing RBs coach
Hunter earned praise from Rams running backs coach Ron Gould for the rookie's performance in OTAs and minicamp, per Wyatt Miller of the team's official site.
ANALYSIS
Gould praised Hunter's speed on the field as well as how quickly the 2025 fourth-round draft pick out of Auburn has picked up the offense. Hunter had the second-highest explosive rush rate of carries that went for at least 10 yards among FBS running backs with at least 150 carries in 2024, so he could bring a unique dimension to a Rams offensive that had the fourth-fewest such rushes in the NFL last season, though Gould has also noticed improved explosiveness from running backs Kyren Williams and Blake Corum, with whom Hunter will be competing for carries.
