2025 Fantasy Outlook
Sampson was a highly-productive starter for Tennessee in 2024, running for 1,491 yards and 22 touchdowns while averaging 5.8 yards per carry, and production like that can only be accrued with some amount of innate ability with the football. Sampson's method of winning is clearly his speed, and at 5-foot-8, 200 pounds Sampson is unlikely to ever run with much power in the NFL. It's crucial, then, that his speed remain a true ace to play, because the other parts of Sampson's profile are unlikely to do much lifting. To this point Sampson is not a developed passing-down back, and until that changes it might be difficult for the fourth-round rookie to work his way into the game plan. The Browns will likely hand the 2025 backfield to 36th overall selection Quinshon Judkins and passing-down veteran Jerome Ford, with Sampson likely a developmental project in the meantime. Coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Sampson (calf) is viewed as day-to-day after being injured in Sunday's loss to the 49ers, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Sampson was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against San Francisco in the third quarter after he rushed four times for 23 yards. However, it sounds like the rookie running back avoided a serious injury. If Sampson needs to miss time, Jerome Ford would likely reassume his role as the pass-catching complement to Quinshon Judkins.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Fellow Browns rookie RB gets hurt
RBCleveland Browns
October 26, 2025
Sampson could have a bigger role after Cleveland's Week 9 bye, as fellow rookie running back Quinshon Judkins sustained a shoulder injury in the Week 8 loss to the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Judkins has a Week 9 bye to recover, but if he isn't available when the Browns resume play in Week 10 against the Jets, Sampson and Jerome Ford would be in line to pick up the slack. Sampson has been more effective as a pass catcher than a rusher, as the rookie fourth-round pick has just 51 rushing yards on 28 carries compared to 133 yards and a touchdown on 20 catches in his rookie campaign.
