After trading outside linebacker Brian Burnes to the Giants in March, the Panthers made it a priority to fortify a seemingly weak room of pass rushers by adding both Wonnum and Jadeveon Clowney in free agency. Wonnum is coming off the most productive season of his young career, tallying 62 tackles, including 8.0 sacks, 38 pressures and seven passes defended in 15 games with the Vikings. Wonnum missed Weeks 17 and 18 with the Vikings last season and then signed a two-year deal in free agency with Carolina. Wonnum hasn't practiced at all since signing with the team and will now miss at least the first four games of the 2024 campaign.
