2025 Fantasy Outlook
The third-year linebacker from Oregon appeared in 14 games and made two starts last season, tallying 44 total tackles, including 0.5 sacks, and one pass defense. The Panthers' edge-rush corps changed a lot this offseason, letting go of veteran Jadeveon Clowney but adding Nic Scourton, Princely Umanmielen and Pat Jones. As a result, Johnson will remain in a reserve role and carry minimal fantasy value in 2025. Read Past Outlooks

Johnson, a 2023 third-round pick out of Oregon, recorded just 16 total tackles and one pass defended across 13 regular-season games during his rookie campaign. However, with offseason addition D.J. Wonnum (quadriceps) beginning training camp on the active/PUP list, Johnson has been working with Carolina's first-team defense and has impressed thus far. Johnson will likely contribute as the Panthers' top rotational edge rusher in 2024, but he could see even more of the field if Wonnum's injury extends into the regular season.
Johnson was selected by the Panthers in the third round of this year's draft. In his final college season at Oregon, he posted 39 tackles and six sacks. Johnson boasts a unique combination of size and athleticism, which Carolina will hope to groom behind Pro Bowler Brian Burns.
