DJ Giddens

22-Year-Old Running BackRB
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Kansas State was beyond fortunate to unearth Giddens as a walk-on recruit, because he would go on to be one of the all-time best players for the Wildcats. Giddens (6-0, 212) ran for 3,087 yards (6.0 YPC) and 23 touchdowns over 39 career games, and with 4.43 speed at his disposal it's easy to see that Giddens is a good athlete despite his walk-on background. With that said, Giddens visibly lacks anchor and to fully tap into his speed requires standing upright in a way that makes Giddens a big target for defenders. This means that while Giddens is otherwise competent at running through traffic, he can't hit the gas until he's well into the open field, because to open up his gait in the middle of traffic is begging for a clothesline or helmet-to-helmet collision. Giddens also appears dubious for passing-down purposes, because his 65.2 percent career catch rate is quite poor by running back standards. Giddens should be a productive off-the-bench rushing specialist in the NFL with some big-play upside, but his areas of concern are enough to make it appear that Giddens is better suited to the bench than a starting role, even in the distant future. For now he'll compete with Khalil Herbert and Tyler Goodson for the running back snaps behind Jonathan Taylor, and observers shouldn't be shocked if Giddens ends up fourth in that line. Plays just four snaps in loss
RBIndianapolis Colts
September 29, 2025
Giddens did not have a carry or target in Sunday's loss at the Rams. He played just four snaps on offense.
ANALYSIS
Jonathan Taylor against got almost every touch in the backfield as Tyler Goodson had one reception for no gain and played four snaps. Goodson left the game with a groin injury, so Giddens could be the exclusive backup running back next week against Las Vegas. However, Taylor is getting almost every snap in the backfield with the Colts making little effort to work in any backups.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Chance for increased role
RBIndianapolis Colts
September 6, 2025
Giddens would serve as Indianapolis' RB2 behind Jonathan Taylor for Sunday's game against Miami if Tyler Goodson is unable to play due to an elbow injury, Amanda Foster of the Colts' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Giddens rotated with Goodson as the No. 2 running back during training camp, and the former would be in line to serve in that role in Week 1 if the latter is not cleared to suit up. Giddens went from a zero-star recruit to the starting running back for Kansas State, where he posted 1,200-plus yards in each of his last two collegiate seasons. The rookie fifth-rounder is an elusive runner and has good hands in the passing game, so he could see additional work on passing downs and whenever Taylor needs a breather during Sunday's regular-season opener if Goodson cannot play.
