2025 Fantasy Outlook
Bellinger had a golden opportunity to carve out a prominent role as a pass catcher in 2024 after Darren Waller retired, but 2024 fourth-round pick Theo Johnson quickly surpassed Bellinger as the Giants’ top receiving tight end. Johnson underwent Lisfranc surgery in December but projects to lead Big Blue’s TE room once he recovers, leaving Bellinger to focus primarily on blocking. Bellinger’s receiving yardage has declined in each of his three NFL seasons, from 268 as a rookie in 2022 to 255 in 2023 and 125 in 2024. He hasn’t scored a TD or missed a game over the past two seasons after finding the end zone twice in 12 games as a rookie. Read Past Outlooks
Catchless again Week 12
Bellinger did not catch either of his two targets in Sunday's loss to the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger saw a relatively large 62 percent offensive snap share, but he finished without a reception for the second straight week. Meanwhile, top TE Theo Johnson finished second on the team with 77 receiving yards on three catches and has now reached the 75-yard mark in two of his past three games. With Johnson building momentum, it seems likely that Bellinger will continue to have a minimal role in the passing attack moving forward.

2022
Bellinger has started 24 games across his first two NFL seasons, but he failed to step up when Darren Waller missed five games due to a hamstring injury in 2023. Despite appearing in all 17 games after missing five as a rookie himself, Bellinger saw his yardage total drop from 268 to 255 and failed to find the end zone in his second season after scoring twice in 2022. Waller announced his retirement in June, but the Giants added tight end Theo Johnson in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, giving Bellinger new competition for snaps and targets. While Bellinger is the favorite to make the Week 1 start, Johnson is faster and more athletic and thus more likely to have fantasy utility if he does earn considerable playing time.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Competing for starting job
Bellinger is set to compete with rookie Theo Johnson for the top spot on the tight end depth chart, as Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports Darren Waller has informed the Giants that he is planning to retire.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger backed up Waller in 2023 when the veteran starter wasn't sidelined by a hamstring injury. With Waller hanging up his cleats, Bellinger and Johnson are the top remaining options at tight end for the Giants, so both likely will receive significant playing time in 2024. Bellinger and Johnson are both fourth-round draft picks, with Bellinger being picked in 2022 and Johnson in 2024.
