The Sunday-only NFL main slate for Week 6 features 13 games, excluding the Lions and Saints (bye), Eagles-Giants (Thursday Night Football) and 49ers-Packers (Monday Night Football). That's a lot of fantasy star power being taken off the table, but there are still plenty of options ready to pop in Sunday's games, including a quarterback making his first start of the season and an expensive running back that should be worth every penny and more.
TOURNAMENTS (GPP – GUARANTEED PRIZE POOL)
QB: Russell Wilson, SEA at OAK ($30): Wilson's attempts have been limited with Seattle relying more on the rushing attack, but he's still thrown multiple touchdown passes in all but one game this season. He'll be eager to put on a show for the Wembley Stadium crowd in London, and Wilson's yardage output should come up this week against a Raiders defense that's allowing 277.2 yards per game through the air. He's also been surprisingly quiet on the ground, but Wilson has the potential to put up some impressive numbers with his legs, having rushed for 489 or more yards in five of his first six NFL campaigns.
RB: Phillip Lindsay, DEN vs. LAR ($19): While Devontae Booker is the preferred option in the two-minute drill and Royce Freeman gets a solid chunk of work on the ground, Lindsay is just an explosive playmaker who seems to make something happen almost every time the ball's in his hands. If you take away Week 3 against the Ravens (when he was ejected early for what may or may not have been a punch), Lindsay's averaging over 13 carries to go with two receptions per game. At 5.8 yards per carry and 8.1 yards per catch, the rookie's making the most of his opportunities. While an early deficit here would likely eat into Freeman's playing time, Lindsay's big-play potential should keep him involved regardless of game flow.
WR: Devin Funchess, CAR at WAS ($17): Funchess could turn into a great value pick here at $17 despite facing a stingy Washington secondary. He's led Carolina's wide receivers in yardage every week and presents a nice, large target near the goal line at 6-foot-5. Funchess' scoring rate should go up considering he has just one touchdown this season after securing eight last year, and this matchup with a Redskins team that's on a short week after getting spanked by the Saints on Monday Night Football presents an excellent opportunity to get into the end zone.
Other Against-the-Grainers
QB: Baker Mayfield (CLE, $26); Cam Newton (CAR, $33)
RB: Latavius Murray (MIN, $17); Ronald Jones II (TB, $14); Devonta Freeman (ATL, $27)
WR: David Moore (SEA, $10); Will Fuller (HOU, $22); Robby Anderson (NYJ, $14)
TE: Austin Hooper (ATL, $16); Nick Vannett (SEA, $10)
DST: Minnesota Vikings ($15); Baltimore Ravens ($14)
CASH GAMES (H2H, 50/50s and DOUBLE UPS)
Quarterback
Jameis Winston, TB at ATL ($26)
The Buccaneers will move Winston back in under center following the team's Week 5 bye, handing him the reins to a high-powered passing offense which Ryan Fitzpatrick guided to 400-plus yards in each of the team's first three games. Winston can be had for just $26 in his first start, but that price is likely to skyrocket after this week. There's no better time to pick him up on the cheap than against a Falcons defense that's allowing 277.2 passing yards and 32.6 points per game.
Running Back
Todd Gurley, LAR at DEN ($40)
Gurley can be depended on for production week in and week out, but this stands out as a particularly juicy matchup. Denver's defense was gashed for 323 yards by the Jets last week, and Gurley has more talent and a better offensive line than New York's backfield combination of Isaiah Crowell and Bilal Powell. He's also assured of a heavy workload with an average of 24 touches per game and no fewer than 21 in any individual contest.
James Conner, PIT at CIN ($25)
With Le'Veon Bell scheduled to return during Pittsburgh's Week 7 bye, this should be Conner's last start. He just netted 185 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns in last week's win over the Falcons, so the Steelers will likely give Conner all the work he can handle against a Bengals defense that's allowing 118.2 rushing yards per game. Cincinnati has also surrendered a receiving touchdown to a running back in two of the last three weeks, opening another window of opportunity for Conner to find success.
Wide Receiver
A.J. Green, CIN vs. PIT ($33)
Green topped 100 receiving yards for the first time this season last week, and he has a great chance of doing so again with Pittsburgh's 29th-ranked pass defense coming to town. The Steelers are giving up 296.2 yards per game through the air in addition to 26.6 points per game. Yardage is only part of the equation, however, and Green gets high marks in the touchdown category as well, having already scored five this season to put himself on pace to reach double digits for the fourth time in his career.
Josh Gordon, NE vs. KC ($18): This could be the breakout week we've been waiting for from Gordon. He turned two catches into 50 yards and a touchdown last week, and the former Browns receiver's athleticism could prove to be a major problem for a Chiefs defense that's allowing 343 yards per game through the air. With more of New England's playbook under his belt and a favorable matchup, Gordon could give owners astronomical returns at $18 if things break right.
Robert Woods, LAR at DEN ($25)
While he doesn't get as much attention as teammates like Gurley and Jared Goff, Woods has been a key cog in a Los Angeles offense that's averaging 468.4 yards and 34.6 points per game. The former Bills wide receiver has gone over 80 receiving yards in each of the past four games while adding a trio of touchdowns over that stretch. If either Brandin Cooks (concussion) or Cooper Kupp (concussion) sits out, or both, Woods should see even more volume.
Tight End
Eric Ebron, IND at NYJ ($16)
As long as Jack Doyle (hip) remains sidelined, owners should continue to plug Ebron in with confidence. Ebron's 6-foot-4 frame and ability to outjump defenders make him a major threat at the goal line, as illustrated by his five touchdowns in five weeks with Indianapolis. He's also averaging north of 50 receiving yards per contest, so his involvement isn't limited to the red zone a la Jimmy Graham last season. If wide receiver T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) sits again, Ebron's stock would rise even further.
Defense/Special Teams
Chicago Bears, CHI at MIA ($20)
Chicago's defense has contributed a league-best 14.5 fantasy points per game up to this point, and this unit is set up to exceed that average here. The Bears have had an extra week to rest and game plan against the Dolphins thanks to a Week 5 bye, while Miami's offense has been in shambles over the past two weeks. Miami's 24 combined points over the past two games look bad without context, and that's before factoring in that 14 of those points are due to a garbage-time touchdown by backup quarterback Brock Osweiler and a punt return touchdown.
Honorable Mentions
QB: Tom Brady (NE, $36); Matt Ryan (ATL, $39)
RB: James White (NE, $25); Christian McCaffrey (CAR, $30); Joe Mixon (CIN, $26)
WR: Mohamed Sanu (ATL, $18); Tyler Lockett (SEA, $18); Mike Evans (TB, $31)
TE: Cameron Brate (TB, $15); David Njoku (CLE, $13)
DST: Houston Texans ($17); Jacksonville Jaguars ($17)
